Ok guys, so I am about to start formulating a parts list for my build. I am going to be building up the bottom end of either an S50 or M50. I am having a hard time sourcing an M50 shortblock, but can get a good S50 for cheap. Is the marginal thickness in the cylinder walls that much better? My power goal is somewhere around 650whp, so as long as an S50 will hold up fine then I'll go ahead and pick it up.
Also, what do you guys reccomend as far as pistons/rods go? I need to start getting a parts list together on what I need to build it for it to be able to handle ~700whp. Thanks!

The smaller bore will be better. Research shipping, I know of a M50NV shortblock (disassembled actually, only buy what you need) as well as a M50TU longblock. They are located in Portland tho.

Shipping would prob be around $100 with a freight company, how much are those going for? I would just need a bare shortblock pretty much. Plan to swap out everything.
I do have the ability to pick up a 100k S50 shortblock for $50 though?

I'd really go with the smaller bore. I'm not sure on how much it would go for, prob $50-100? You're going to do a overbore and use 84.5/85mm pistons right?

I have a honed and painted M50 that is a bare block. It's 84.5mm. I was going to use it on my build, but, picked up an M52 for cheap.
$400 and it's yours. I have been spraying it down with WD-40 for the last 8 months in my garage and I want it out.
