Over the weekend I found a pair of perfect front seats at the local salvage yard for my '87 --the problem is they are electric and seemingly impossible to remove due to the bolts being under the movable tracks.
1st of all there is no power to move the seats in order to gain access(no battery), & also no key, so even if I had power I could not activate the seats.
Any suggestions out there?

Take a battery with you along with some spare wire, unplug the harness going to the seats and wire it directly to the battery.
*I have no idea if this will work , and do not accept any liability should said vehicle go up in flames*
Good luck!

You might want to bring a fire extenguisher with you as well......Just a thought!

use a rechargable drill battery (14 volt) and a couple of lengths of wire to remote operate the seats. it's a lot easier than lugging a car battery around.

I personally have one of those cheap "Booster" packs that has a manual on/off switch. That and a couple lengths of wire and you should be good to go.
