I'm trying to figure out if someone has already deleted this without taking things apart. The front struts say Boge on them and the rear struts say KYB.

I'm 99% sure the upper rear mounts are totally shot, there's crazy play over bumps and thumping noises. If the SLS is already deleted I can just get rear shocks from any normal E34 right?

What kind of e34?

Not all came with SLS/LAD

KYB was never OEM. They should either be Sachs or Boge

If you have KYBs in back the SLS has already been deleted...or Jerry Rigged, but you'll find that out once you start pulling the rear end apart. If you don't see a whole mess of tubing running around the back then that is also another clue. Look for 535 suspension options and you can go from there.

Sorry, the car is a 1991 M5. I was under the impression they all came with SLS but that could be wrong too. It's definitely KYB's in the back, so I fear it's been Jerry Rigged. Will have to dig deeper. Thanks guys.

You are correct--from the factory all e34 M5s destined for the US market had SLS. Euro cars 93 and later had EDC. Please let us know what you find out
