Alright Guys,
For reference I drive a '98 328I with just around 92K miles on it.
If anyone has any piece of advice, please by all means, just throw it out there. I have been experiencing some weird steering issues with my car recently. These seemed to be fine with my 15" stockers, but once I threw my contours on, these are what i'm getting. I was originally thinking it could be a bad tire or rim, but I feel like the stocks might have just been masking the problems?

My symptoms have been:

-Bump Steering
-No clunk in steering rack when turning from left to right
-Steering wheel will pull sporadically to the left, then the right, as if it were not alligned
-When coming to an abrupt stop, the wheel will strongly pull in one direction moving the car over about 4 feet with the wheel at a about a 40* angle in either direction, it hasn't favored doing this to either side.
-Somewhat of a "floaty" steering feeling
-Small shimmy on the wheel when driving
-On the highway at about 75mph there's a vibration, but you feel it more in your ass, and legs if there pushed against the center console/door than in the steering wheel (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=971823#)
-When banking left on a turn on the highway, the wheel will hold itself and you need to do nothing to make the turn. But on banking right, you will need to turn the wheel to make the turn.

These are my ideas, I have the control arm bushings, im going to put them in on sunday as I just received parts for my makeshift tool to put them in. I think this will be followed with an alignment. The steering rack sounds like it could have been the problem, with the floating feeling and the erratic pulling on the wheel. Other than this i'm kind of lost. When I put on my summer wheels I didn't feel any play in the wheel itself. If anyone can point me in a direction or give me something to inspect or read up on, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Almost definitely your control arm (wishbone) bushings are toast. When these bushes fail, they allow the front end alignment to change with road conditions, and especially under braking on uneven surfaces the wheels will try to go in different directions, leading to that floaty feeling and erratic tracking. It may seem to be overkill, but it's worth replacing ball joints and tie rods at the same time.
