skiboard06 03-31-2008, 09:56 PM this car is awesome, what are you selling for? Hopefully staying in racing...
Eric1H 03-31-2008, 09:58 PM yeah staying in racing, just moving up to something with more power/V8
car has been totally sorted out, literally every weak point in an e36 has been addressed. Clean title, no accidents.
redefinedM3 04-01-2008, 09:24 AM Bump for a great car and a good guy. Hate to see it go Eric but I know the next one will be sick!
UDM Motorsport 04-01-2008, 10:34 AM Those headlight cutouts legal in prepared?
Good Luck with your sale...and a good seller!
rebel1 04-01-2008, 10:35 AM Nice car. GL with the sale!

Good Luck with your sale...and a good seller!
Not really, the passenger side light is just painted black, and I have the drivers side light to throw back in, I just put those in for HPDE's.........it looks cool :-D
kevc911 04-01-2008, 02:56 PM Bump for a fast car! This was one of the only cars to pass me at Wilderness Trail HPDE March 18th at VIR!
Kevin
not stock Estoril E36 M3
IndyJim 04-01-2008, 04:18 PM Looks like a good car, how competitive is it in class?
I've heard different things re: the 3.0's vs 3.2's.
Thanks

I'd say its a solid mid to mid front pack car. It is by no means a front runner like David Whites car, but should run solid 2:09-2:11s with a good driver and some hoosiers. For a front runner like David White's you'd probably spend another 15-20k at least. hell he probably has that in just motorworks.
I ran low 1:23's at Roebling, 2:14's all day at VIR, with better tires and driver It has much more in it. I'm just not pushing it 100% and beyond.
Eric1H 04-01-2008, 10:55 PM BTW, car will be at VIR this weekend for the THSCC event if anyone wants to see it and if anyone is serious, they can drive it.
IndyJim 04-02-2008, 08:17 AM Will you be racing at the club race at VIR? I'll be there might sneak a look.
dmwhite 04-02-2008, 11:41 AM For a front runner like David White's you'd probably spend another 15-20k at least. hell he probably has that in just motorworks.
not even close...probably not much more than you have in your motor...junkyard 3.2, sunbelt cams, injectors, intake, supersprint headers, tuning...also have an oil cooler and dual sump oil pan but those don't add power...
my 3.2 makes good power but not big power like some tend to think...what makes an IP car fast is a good suspension that is properly dialed in, not so much horsepower...

I stand corrected :( I had heard you had the motor built pretty stout and had just about everything that can be done legally done to it. Sorry about the misinformation.
what makes your car fast too, is the fact you drive the friggin wheels off it! ;-)
dmwhite 04-02-2008, 11:50 AM left out one thing, we had the head refreshed on the junkyard motor (no tricky parts though)...motor is strong, but actually not much more power than my 3.0 made (another stock motor with sunbelts in it)...imho, there's no need to dump a bunch of money into a motor rebuild since you can't really do anything (legally) in prepared other than cams/injectors/intake/exhaust...
good luck with the sale...the way IP seems to be growing right now, you should be able to sell it fairly quickly...

Thanks, I hope so, I have a lead on a solid Panoz GT-WC car! Are you going to be at VIR this weekend with THSCC?
dmwhite 04-02-2008, 11:58 AM Are you going to be at VIR this weekend with THSCC?
that's the plan...
qbert65536 04-02-2008, 04:53 PM You said you addressed all the problems with the e36 -- I just got a 95 m3 and it seems to push pretty bad, did you have a similar problem ? If so how did you fix it.
Thanks!

non staggered wheels, sticky tires, loads of suspension tweaks, stiffer springs, stiffer sways. A little trail braking and throttle steer helps too! :-D
Come on, noone wants a solid IP car? car is ready to drive on track, fresh fluids!
The e36 track market just doesn't have a ton buyers in it right now. But there is someone out there who wants this car and is willing to pay your price, which seems fair for the car. It might take some time, but you'll get it sold (coming from someone who just sold my other e36 m3 track car). Is it on all the sites possible? CCACR, roadfly, turner, bimmerfest? Mine ended up selling by word of mouth, so the more places it's listed the better.
qbert65536 04-03-2008, 01:27 PM I bought mine by word of mouth also, so defeintly post it as many places as possible.
Thanks for the understeer tips :).
Good luck with the sale! Thats a sweet car.
shiza40 04-04-2008, 12:57 PM Bump for a great seller and a fast car.

I am in the market for another IP car but your is more than I want to spend right now. GL :)

No, sorry, I don't really want to sell the trailer at all, but if it would help sell the car I would, otherwise I'll keep it.

Good luck with the sale regardless! And I'd love to check out the Panoz if you get it.
Eric1H 04-27-2008, 08:38 PM I had it 2+ years, I'm a project guy, when the projects done, i get bored, did the same thing with my 350z, then the Viper, then the M, and now onto a new project. never kept a track car more than 2 years.
Thanks for the bump. I found the Panoz I want, now to sell this one!

One of the things they noticed was the power steering lines were leaking so I replaced those tonight. Car is ready to sell!

UKRSTI 05-23-2008, 04:49 PM Eric,
So what's the policy on test drives? Are you at Tarheel next week?
Eric1H 05-23-2008, 05:43 PM Eric,
So what's the policy on test drives? Are you at Tarheel next week?
Normally i wouldn't mind, but I'm not going to bring my car next week, at least i hadn't planned too.
If youre reallyserious about it I can haul it up there, but I don't want to press my luck and drive it and have something happen to it(wreck it)
Eric1H 05-25-2008, 09:43 PM $20,000 even anyone

Eric1H 06-06-2008, 09:48 PM bump, make me an offer!
dbbmwm3 06-08-2008, 10:03 AM Eric, You may want to think about parting out your car instead of selling it whole. I'll bet you'll make more money that way too - it's just a PITA though. - Denis
Eric1H 06-16-2008, 10:23 AM Denis, i thought about it, but it is entirely to much work, i did the math and I could easily get quite a bit more out of it by parting it out, but it would defeat the purpose of all the work I've done over the past 2 years and take way too much time, that with a new baby on the way I do not have. Thanks for the input though.
bump

Maybe you want to do a trade? :)
Good luck on the sale.
