well i'll be giving a speech soon on the history of the Motorsport division... obviously i'll be doing my own research, but the guys in OT told me to post in here as you guys are pretty devout and will know where to find some excellent information. the e30 m3 will pretty much be the center of my speech too as it was the highest profile. so i was wondering if you guys could give me some cool links on the history of ///M, how it came to be, and basically everything about it. if you have any random information that would be cool to share, please throw it my way, too!

by the way... the assignment is give an informative speech on a cultural artifact and explain it's affects.

The Brabham (sp) BMW F1 team made a HUGE name for BMW Motorsport long before the E30 M3 came along. 1200 hp from an M10 production block.

take a breath and dive in.... http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=8 (http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=8)
click FAQ and highlight any model to get info on it. You can highlight the E30 as what started it all for the American market. But you gotta mention the 635csi and M5 the M1 and the 2002 turbo and well...you should set aside two class period for your speech ;)

In my opinion, that's where it all started. and in an m10 too.

Maybe that's why the S14 is based on the M10.

i think this is a noble project...however, I just want to make you aware that your classmates will think you are still a virgin by talking about a foriegn car in class.
