Ill be detailing my car soon and i wanted to know about the car soap that waxes the car too. Its in liquid form and its from Rain-x and Turtle Wax. Is it good to use? Or should i just use the regular car soap then wax by hand. Thanks

I use blue coral wash and wax, not for the wax tho. Its just a marketing scheme, it might have some wax in it but it will just slide off. But its still ok to use it but you still need to wax by hand or machine. No polishing?

Hi,
I just purchased a wash & wax soap a few weeks ago. I know that wash and wax is a bunch of bull, but not with this product. I washed my car and when I rinsed it beaded up and it looked like I hand waxed it. I rinsed it off about a week later and it still beaded. The reason I know it was the soap is because I have not waxed my car in a while. Its called Deep Purple wash and wax shampoo. Im sure you can find it online.

For car wash I like to use the Griot's Garage Car Wash, it is expensive but it is the best I've worked with.

I don't know of any wash product that has a really good soap plus a really good wax mixed in the same bottle. I know of a lot that have a combination of an average soap and a mediocre liquid wax.
Really good car shampoos available over the counter are the Meguiar's NXT shampoo and Mother's Gold Class.
There are many great shampoos available through mail order as well. The one I'm using lately is the Detailer's Pride Extreme Foam shampoo and I'll buy more when it runs out.
As far a waxes go, Meguiar's and Mother's make nice ones available at most local shops and most of the mail order ones have a huge user base.
Personally, I'd do your second choice - wash first then wax.

Quality shampoo that is on sale at autogeek. 'On sale' is key, you'll be hard pressed to distinguish between quality soaps. Marketing hype has me buying P21S, but is it worth it? Optimum seems to have great products/soaps.
All that can be said is...better to spend you money on the highest quality WOOL MIT. It is also invaluable to truly know how to wash a car. A chamois to remove water so to avoid water spots. A quality detail spray is also key.
Quality soap is available down the road from you.
