I'm in a quandry. Patient is a '95 Daytona Violet that needs some scratches and swirl marks dealt with. Have asked for recommendations in several forums for detailers in the central CT area and have come up empty.
Before you say it, I don't have the time/expertise to get the quality I want.
I don't mind paying $$s for a good job.

How do you determine who to go with? I have received some 'names' from work associates but not sure of quality. Does it matter if they are mobile or are 'brick and morter' shops usually better? Pictures aren't necessarily their work so it can be dubious, as can 'resumes'. Are there certain types of products/tools I should expect an expert to have?
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hpw bad are the swirls. You could do them yourself.
Or I could give you a couple of names.
Maybe look on detailcity.

have you tried autopia?

To really find out what kind of detailer they are, find out exactly what they use. Don't buy their "original" mixture. Report back and let us know the products and we can judge from there.

Ask for references and photos if available.

If you could PM me some names I'd appreciate it... paid in coffee or beer. I moved to Avon after many (30+) years in WH.
Thanks,

Five guys burgers and greasy fries.... Actually the place is great... just not too often, though the kids love it. I'm about 1/4 mile directly behind Tweeter so 'give a wave' on the way by!

Thanks for the names, I'll let you know what happens.

I'd look on autopia (post in your regional section there if you want).

DO NOT SHOP BY PRICE.

Choosing a Detailer

Ask for reputable detailer’s names on a detailing site
Ask the prospective detailer for photographs of vehicles they have done recently (most detailers have a portfolio)
Ask for (telephone number) references from recent clients and check them
Ask them what detailing products they use (known brand names are preferable)
Ask how long they have been in business
Ensure they have adequate insurance cover and that they are a registered business

Once you’ve selected a detailer be specific about what services you require (i.e. exterior paint renovation, interior detailing, etc
