View Full Version : EURO 525i!!!!
deutscheEnergi 03-28-2008, 03:18 PM i just picked up a 84 525i!! the body has some dings but the bumpers are perfect. but the front apron (valance) is beat up. does anyone know where i can get a euro one?
so its got cloth seats and roll up windows. NO a/c. its great!! im so happy! but the color is champagne so its going to be painted. and it has US spec lights. i didnt look at it very much because the price was so fucking great and im on a time crunch. i just paid for it and took off to get my truck! im home right now and will be getting it today!
so far plans are a m30b35, fully gutted and caged. maybe black, dark gray or dark blue for the paint.
i also got the factory euro owners manual and service manual thats in german, english, spanish and french (i think). the service manual is bigger then a phone book!
------also if any euro spec sites could be sent my way that would be great-------

im looking for wheels right now and bucket seats
What models does the service manual cover?
I must admit I'm a bit baffled on you being so happy about getting a Euro that you're just going to gut anyway. Is the engine knackered? It might be worth putting money into that, rather than swapping in a B35. I trust you got it for cheap, 'cuase by the amount of work you want to put in a cheap 528e US would have been a decent starting point.
Travis R 04-02-2008, 10:52 PM Holy crap! Is that a vacuum advance distributor?!

im glad about having a euro because of the lack of extras from the factory, the fact that it is a real euro and the bumpers ofcorse. the BAR sticker says its a 2.7 but i know its a m30 2.5L. i dont know why i would want to build up a 2.5 m30 when i can do a 3.5L there is no replacement for displacement. plus the better, newer fuel injection system. im trying to find a euro m30 right now.

why would i take a US and do all that work? thats like having a girl with fake tits. in my personal opinion i think its bullshit to convert something over when you can have the real thing. yes i want to cage it and yes i will gut it but it will still have handcrank windows like you cant get here and it will have no AC.
i dont like 528e models. if i wanted a commuter i would have one but not for speed. driving my 240D mercedes is killing me! i need speed! yes this motor is only 150hp but i want a euro m30b34 or 35
But if you're turning it into a race car I'd have thought dropping the bumpers would be something you'd do anyway, so no "cool euro" factor there. Or can you have a "fully gutted and caged" street legal car where you are?
A 528e is "the real thing." Gutted and caged, one E28 is just like any other except the drive train. If you pay a premium for a Euro it seems odd that you'd do what could be done to a US car for way less entry cost. Dolly Parton bumpers or not.
No disresepect intended. It's your car, and you can do what you want to it. I'm more into originality, especially on cars that aren't common (at least not common here). If I want more power, for cheap, I'll turbo a 528e. But that's just my opinion, worth what you paid for it.
deutscheEnergi 04-03-2008, 10:34 PM no i dont want a pure race car. im into original stuff too but this is just want i want to do with it, its not that clean so why spend all the time trying to find the factory interior parts that are hard to find when i can just gut it and make it fast, i smog this to federal standards too. cant do that will just any e28 and its a true euro. i would never put any money into a m20 unless its in a e10,e21 or e30. i paid $200 for this car so im happy. how many euro e28s do you see in the US that are barely street legal?
