The words "V6", "gets a lot of looks" (or something along those lines), "auto", "body is in good shape", "M package", etc.

1. anyone who overstates the car in anyway. (dishonest)
2. owners under 25 (beat the car to rat shit)
3. no knowledge of common wear items (i.e. no maintenance done)
4. salvage title
5. way too many owners
6. cheap unnecessary eBay mods

+1 to all of the above (and HUGE aftermarket rims that 'boost' the value, pshhh)

...anything under 540i, 120,xxx+ miles, non-bmw wheels (ac/dinan/bbs, etc... accepted cuz they are nice), greesy shiney leather, hased headlights. all the little things.

Hey now, I am 22 and have kept all of my BMW's in excellent condition. But, I understand what you mean. I think meeting the previous owner and discussing the car with him/her is extremely important to make a deal. If they are oblivious to the maintanence requirements of a BMW than walk away.

There are exceptions to the rule. That makes you a 'roll' model (get it?).

Cool thread. I agree about the chrome rims or anything that doesn't have "class" rim-wise.

As far as being "oblivious to the maintenance requirements of a BMW"..... I joined these forums to find myself a 5-series. What are the maintenance requirements of a BMW as opposed to any other car? What things should I look for?

Thanks in advance!

Read the stickies. This has been talked about in length.
