View Full Version : I finally landed a quality e28

hello hi hey

as you will see in the pictures, it is nice on the inside as well as the outside. the only problems it has are #1: its an automatic (but it has some sort of sport mode nob that i have never seen before but works nicely). #2: the antenna is gone (radio still works fine, don't need to replace anytime soon). and lastly #3: the rear windows don't roll down from the back doors, you must use the regulators up front (not a big deal either).

the list of good qualities on the other hand is endless. reply with any questions and i will tell you what i know.

here are some pics, and i plan to take better ones once it stops raining.

ya, the car looks nice, clean, and the sport mode+the button under the accelerator=great fun. by the way, the calipers came with the red, and i understand what your saying.

i bought it directly from Lovejoy Motors right off of broadway, but they recieved it off of trade in, possibly from "Allan." does Allan live in Washington? he kept the car in great condition.

Allan was the previous owner of that car. He takes great care of each of his BMWs.

Thanks for the compliment. My car has been complete, I am just trying to eliminate the misfire. Just did the wires which really cleaned things up, locating a spare ECU which will eliminate it entirely. Swapping ECUs is much, much easier with the glovebox removed ;)

This is the only other set of wheels I have had on the car (when I first purchased the car, the previous owner had style 29 wheels which I immediately swapped for the style 21s):

wait so your saying that that picture you just posted is your car with the style 21's? whatever it is i love them. i think those are some of my favorite wheels on an e28. but i do like the borbet type A's. what size are those wheels in that pic?

No -- sorry for the confusion. The pictured wheels are my style 5s (17x8 front and rear), while the wheels pictured in my signature are the style 21s.

Never had an E28, but in the E32,34,38s I've driven, and IIRC in the E30 wagon , there was always a switch that would cut off the regulator switches in the rear doors.
The purpose is to prevent children (or drunks?!) in the backseat from playing with the window regulators and possibly harming themselves.

wait, are you saying that the button on the right side of my steering wheel is the solution to my back window problem? the "breaker" i believe. i don't know what it is so i have never pushed it.

Not the breaker. It's the black button that should be between the switches for the front and rear windows on the driver's side.

haha, i fixed my back windows. i pressed both the child locks that "JayM" is talking about and the other button that is back behind the stearing wheel on the right side.
