I would like to put the extra set of wheels from my e36(staggered contours) on my e24 -back wheels fit fine but need spacers to fit fronts(wheel and tire hit shock) just need to know how thick and where to find them

you need the offest to be somewhere around 20...what is the offset for the e36 wheels anyhow?

I fully agree, definitely not a good idea. E36 rims have an offset of 40 to 50mm which means you need spacers 20mm to 30mm thick which means loooong lugs and a lot of stress on them.

ooph, that is quite a bit, i thought it was in the 30 range,

definitely dont want to do that, better off grabbing some E39 wheels or something.

ok thanks for the replies and advice-offset on these e36 wheels is 40mm. They are the contour reps with the polished lip and the look really good on the car so maybe i'll try to find some made for the car.20mm spacers=bad idea

an option would be adapters instead of spacers. Adapters are bolted to the hub and have threads for wheel lugs. This way you basically move the mounting flange to the outside towards the fender and don't need longer bolts.

where can you find the adapters for the car

H&R offer them plus various other manufacturers. Fleabay is a good source for used ones - at least in Germany.
