OK well here is the sort of OLD updates and images from last year.

We will start out with the day i got my car back in December 2006..i have no idea why the grass was still green btw...anyways..this is what it looked like as soon as i brought it home..

Next I pulled the instrument cluster because my speedo was not functioning..
check the SI board too, didnt bother replacing it just yet, i had more importent things to worry about to make it completely driveable again...
anyhow, i ended up buying and entire used cluster and just swapping out speedos, now my dash says i have 250k miles on my car when it really only has a little over 60..

Cant wait to see the car in person at SESF, or perhaps on the way there or something...

So, are you staying in MI this summer or are you headed to VA? If so, i may be going to some parts of virginia near you, or at least on the way when i go to visit family, ill have to stop by and er...drive the R8 or something...:)

I'll be in and out of VA during the summer, probally spending a good amount of time down there on the weekends and whatnot, to work on my car and get out of the city.

UPDATE:

I tore apart the seat today, pulled the control unit, it is fried this is why my seat would not adjust. The motors worked fine when jumped. Took the control unit apart to find that the board has been eaten away by corrosion from moisture over time. Tried cleaning it to no avail. Just emailed steve haygood to see if he can find something for me. But if anyone else on here has one or knows where to get a good used one in good working order let me know asap. Would be nice to have soon. but it is not urgent! thanks guys

will post more pics tomorow

update from today...

pulled rear shocks and springs to make an adjustment and replace thee worn out bump stops. move the c clips up one stop due to a lack of tension causing a "bumping" noise.

decided to try ad tackle one of my eletrical gremlins. My head lights. they were doing some pretty crazy things. Well the headlights, foglights and reverse lights we are going ape sh#$.

checked out the etm. then looked at the car. Had one loose connection and 2 blown fuses. problem fixed, everything is back together! thats all for today

still waiting to hear from haygood... anyone give me an idea of his usual response time?

tomorow...
ssk

mmmm...kill switch. i have one, its great for those annoying battery draining problems i dont feel like fixing yet haha

i usually get something back at latest a day or two. Sometimes better just to call him cause he probably gets 100 x 10^80 emails a day about stuff.

dont you love the 'simple' fixes to bizarre problems? Hope you get to drive the car tomorrow and remember how awesome it is...

You guys still getting snow?? We did today--really odd. Apricots are in bloom, cherries are about ready to pop out--not a good thing. Fortunately it didn't stick. But, hey, it's global warming!!

yeah we got about 3 inches yesterday...

today was sunny and in the 40's, it is supposed to be 50 tomorow.... then back down to the low 40s then probaly going to be somewhat normal and get warmer

i hate michigan

anyhow...
shifter is in...
spent 4 hours detailing the paint on my car as well..
pretty much everything is done for now.. just need to clean up the interior a bit and touch up a couple things..
if the weather is how it is supposed to be tomorow...then i will be driving my car home, not my truck....thank god...crossing my fingers

oh and i have some shots from yesterday and today... nothing exciting... but im tired and lazy and dont want to load them tonite... im going back to my apartment to relax...ive been in the shop since 9am and i just left its 11:30pm... ugh..

lock your doors and keep your daughters inside!! the shark is back on the prowl..

i got it out for the season today... good weather the past couple days has let my parents road dry up enough that i could take her out!

man o man i forgot what a blast this car is.. getting looks left and right...

and wow... the uuc ssk was so worth the money... it has made such a big difference in how the car feels it unreal.. given that all of my bushings in the oem shifter were shot to hell but the new feel of it is great... i love it...no issues right now.. aside from the temp regualter, seat control unit and heater valve... but whatever... minor stuff, things that will be taken care of this summer when i bring the car down to virginia to its new home with my parents...

will be posting those pics soon. i forgot to do it today when i was at their house because i was so excited about driving my car again i just wanted to gtfo of their house haha

Comparing the old pics to the new, it's hard to believe they are of the same car. Good job.

Black and chrome have been my all time favorite color combo. Even makes transistor radios look good.
