Hey guys. The paint on my driver side mirror has chipped off in the wind cause there was corrosion under it. Would e30 m mirrors fit on my car? I would assume the answere would be no but I thought Id ask anyway.

Yes all E30 Mirrors are interchangable. Mind as well pick up one from a junkyard from a 318 or something less exotic than an M3.

Ya thanks. I was thinking that it was the e30 m that had the two arms that attach the mirror not the e36. Would ones from the e36 fit?:help

The e36 M3 mirrors are not a direct bolt on for the e30. The angle at the base is different, as well as the mounting points.

There are several types of lower profile mirrors around, $150 shipped for a newish set is actually pretty decent.

BTW, how did your original mirrors corrode? They are not metal underneath, they are composite. I've seen several mirrors on later cars have paint chipping problems, including the ones on my '91 318is. Really just looks to me like the paint broke down over time.

Ya IDK... they are metal tho. Its kinda a bummer cause the other one is in good shape! Thats ok cause I really like the e36 ones.

I suggest using the 3M clear bra for mirrors as well.
