well the resonator went bad on my 1984 533i. causing the exhaust to fall off(whole system) and after examining it, i decided i mieswell replace the whole thing, and try to get a good sound out of it. so if u have a resonator or know where i could find one, it would much appriciated

I bought all my exhaust parts off ebay. A new cat and new Magnaflow muffler and resonator. I haven't welded it together yet (waiting on pipe and clamps), but lots of people seem happy with magnaflow stuff.
The resonator is Magnaflow part number 10416, 2.5" I/O, 14" long, 4" diameter. Cost about $60.
Obviously if you still have the factory dual exhaust setup you might have to use something else.

does that part also double as a muffler or is it specificly for a resonator
