My 1991 525i 167,000 just had my trans serviced, but now when I am in Econemy mode the trans program see owners manual comes on but I thought the car would go into limp mode then, but doesn;t runs normal so as before any thoughts?

The 'Trans Program' is an Achilles heel of these cars unfortunately. Do a search and I guarantee that you'll have a couplea nights worth of reading.

Bring the Alka Seltzer as well - you'll need it.

Do you have the software upgrade for the transmission computer? The parameters have changed and it will throw a code 40 trans program light if upgrade is implemented. What type of brain is that? FT?
