I did some searching but only came up with a few threads with weak content.

I may be getting an E39 touring in the next year from a co-worker. I am unsure of the color, but it is a great blue-grey color. 528.

Anyway..... I was hoping to see some nice touring wagons with wheels, lowered, and some different body kits. I would love to build an E39 M5 wagon, but want to finish my E34 M52 turbo build before taking on any other projects.

This will be my DD

For anyone who cares, here is my M52 swap and build. The car is going to TCD for turbo in the next few weeks.

this is my favorite e39 touring of all time.

Not modded much, but damn those wheels make the car.

Those are nice.

Saw that thread in the search. Figured there would be a thread with more content. I guess the tourings aren't as popular as I would have imagined

does anyone else notice that the car is parked with the right rear tire on the curb so the front appears lower?

I dont think it's on the curb but you may be right.

I know if I had 4 grand + worth of Alpina wheels on my car hopping curbs would be a big no-no.

Gentlemen:
Those wheels are sweet! But when it comes to a 5000 lb wagon, how long do you think they would last in REAL life? I love a custom wheel, but it's hard to maintain the integrity with so much less sidewall to protect 'em. Get some beefy tires and maybe spacers to make the wagon look a bit more aggressive and offset the fact that it is NOT a sedan...maybe. It works for me:redspot
Also, that sweet thing IS on the curb! Look at the rear offset as opposed to the front...the pix is obviously in Europe just based on the granite road alone. Their curbs are not like ours, very small and mostly meant for looks. The roads are so narrow they make the curbs very small so the cars can be parked half on and half off the roads with the left parking lights illuminated...How do I know? Used to live in Germany for three years....

I run pretty low profile tires year round and my wheels arent all curbed up.

So how low? Lots of construction in my area, so I have prob's...I ride 235/45's and Goodyear Eagle F1's and they are the bomb for noise and grip...tell me more, I'm ready to hear the 411......

actually our tourings are just a touch over 4000lbs which is pretty standard for any sedan/wagon made today. manufacturers are spec'ing lower profile tires because of quality and the surprising durability (unless you run into curbs).

Where do you get that number? My door sill says GVWR 5093...
OOPS! That's loaded max weight...sorry...
