I was going to tackle the OBD1 conversion on '99 E36 M3 and purchased a OBD1 conversion manual on CD-ROM from Zionsville Auto (http://www.zionsvilleautosport.com/store/shop.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=6134&Product_Code=3.03.OCC&Category_Code=CKE)
The CD-ROM provides detailed instructions and lots of pictures to do the conversion yourself.
I ended up going a different route, so I never even used the CD-ROM.
The CD-ROM cost me $80 plus shipping. I'll sell it for $50 shipped.
