I am checking into 2 way radios as my soon to be ready JP E36 came with a PTT button on the steering wheel, roof mount antenna, radio holder (with foam padding) and is pretty much plug and play with all wiring in place...just waiting for a radio.

To those of you who are using radios, are you using 1 watt or 2 watt? What model works good (or bad) for you?

Is there a reputable company that is specific to affordable race radios? I know the full systems can get pricey but since I only need to buy 2 radios and 1 helmet setup I am looking for a company that sells the little parts too.

This looks like the radio I may buy... the XTN series looks as if it takes the 2 plug Motorola accessories.
