Hi everyone

I'm new to the forum from Australia and have very little knowledge about BMW's.

My neighbour is selling his 1984 528i M5, in very good condition. I'm after a nice car for sunday afternoon drives along the coast.

What were these cars like and what should I know about them?

Cheers

Dan

Actually i'm a little bit confused.

I have been told the car is an 1984 BMW 528i 2.8L 5spd Motorsport, and it doesnt have the ///M5 badges just the ///M. Not a M5

Are they are rare car? or just a tuned 528i?

I can't seem to find any information about them and the only other one I have found is also in Australia.

Go to MYe28.com and ask around there, I am not to familiar with the euro e28s so I can't be much help. But I can safely say that the car was probobly just badged as an M and is just a 528i.

Hope that can help.

The 528i is a nice car, but not an M5. ///M badges can be had for cheap, even from the dealer, so unless it's an M535i or an M5 any badges are after market, and don't mean much. The best way to find out what it really is is to enter the last 7 digits of the VIN into a checker like this one:

Thanks for your help. I joined the above forum and found out some more information.

It isnt a M5 but a 1984 528i Motorsport which was sold in Australia.
