What do most of you CR's use on the subframes? Sandblast then powder coat or POR-15, or any other method?

I'll be doing my F/R subframes next week and would like to refinish them.

Cheers!

Mike,

Nice to meet you a few weeks ago. Also, thanks for hooking me up with that parts supplier - great prices - and the parts were delivered the next day, UPS Ground (I bought some rotors from them).

Look forward to seeing you at the track!

John

I think most would just use spraypaint unless your going for show :D. Most of my pieces under the car I coated in something that would just prevent rust. No need to PC things, at least IMO

Just yesterday I dropped off my subframes, trailing arms, spindles and bracketry for sandblasting and powder coat.
Hopefully, that'll be more durable than the spray paint we used last time.
HTH....

Spray paint then cover the parts that get blasted with helicopter tape

Nothing here for me. Sponsor did it all and I didn't ask them to change or paint or do anything. All fresh bushings. Mostly Urethane. Only rubber bushings I have anymore are fresh motor mounts.

I had mine media blasted and PC'd only because I think it will hold up better, but I am sure painting will be fine.

Powder coating can hide small cracks. I'd recommend paint, probably gray to allow easily spotting any cracks.

That is a good point.

Going from something I read on CC but have no personal experience with: Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy, primer first though.
