why the heck do people post questions and then don't check the answers???
I'm not an ALPINA expert, but I know for sure that ] is not a genuine ALPINA spare part :)

I'd like to know if it's a front ] or a rear ]. That would help.

I believe it's the turbo boost or ejector seat modulation unit...I can't remember tho

It looks like it is the auxiliary input connection to a flux capacitor. Alas, I don't have the Delorean anymore so I can't check it out.:(

You should already have it. Standard equipment on every 6. It's usually right next to the " [ " . For fun, the guys on the line will sometimes hide it behind the " ~ " during manufacture.

Sorry, couldn't resist

If I didn't know better, I'd think you guys were a NASCAR crowed ...... you know, people who are fascinated with shiny, brightly colored things going around in a circle!! :D

Oh, and the right hand bracket, "]" is used for hanging the right hand muffler bearing. Use the left bracket "[" for the left muffler bearing. :cool

Did you use the stock muffler bearings or the rare, heavy-duty Alpina muffler bearings??? I heard the Alpina muffler bearings get you at least another 150 hp, even more then the Flux Capacitor would bring...:biglaughb

Using a micro-Fiche reader, this tiny bracket transforms into an anti-sway bar with the Alpina logo and part # clearly visible. Seriously, it's all in fun Irvin.

I am not convinced, I still believe CW6er is right and it's the bracket for this muffler bearing: http://www.kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10

Also, because it's spring now I finally got around to changing the winter air out of the tires using this nifty kit: http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=45

That kit looks like it's just what I need. Do you think I would need both the right hand side can and the left hand side can to do all four tires? I'm sure the handling would suffer severly with off side air in one or more or more of the tires!:D

Don't be a goof, Ray, take this stuff serious!!! By now you should know that there are different cans for the front and rear tires on each side, otherwise the car would just handle bad. I really have to check with Alpina if they still offer their spring and summer kit, maybe I can find that bracket that poor Irvin is missing there too...:corkysm60

I wonder what Ivin will think when he returns for his answer? With only 23 posts, his limited exposure to this august group of automotive engineers may limit his understanding of the complex and extensive engineering experience that has generated these comprehensive answers to his simple request. There is also the possibility that Irvin has returned, read all the posts and simply turned away not wanting to ever ask another question to a group that seems to be totally looney tunes.
By the way, I have heard that the chrome muffler bearings will outlast the regular ones. Is this true?

I talked to ALPINA the other day because I had to order some rims for a Greek customer and asked them about this specific spare ]
They said this is a cheap after market replacement coming from China. The original one actually is this: } and they still have a few in stock. But they need the original ALPINA VIN as proof of ownership otherwise they won't sell it.
