Hey, I have an 88 e32 and it has been great so far but last night i turned my climate control fan on and a horrible grinding noise started coming from under my dash. It has been making squeeling noises since I bought the car but I can't keep ignoring it anymore. Anyone know what needs to be replaced?

And sorry if this was posted somewhere else, I did a search but didn't find anything.

Maybe check the fan housing. The squealing maybe the fan motor, but the grinding is possibly the fan cage hitting the housing....again just guessing here though.

Most likely a dry bearing in the fan motor. Sorry, but you'll have to pull a fair bit of stuff apart to get to it. Try this link:
