I mean, law abiding citizens. http://www.delongwine.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/dragnet.jpg PaveIt 03-20-2008, 11:07 PM I have gotten 2 calls this week by people wanting converters for scrap. If you are wanting to sell them, I'm sure your local scrap/junk yard pays top dollar for the platinum inside. My company has a customer sells scrap CATs to a steel mill. We haul the recycled converters that have been cut in half and had the platinum removed in dump trailers to the steel mill. I was told that once enough platinum is removed, it is loaded on a truck and that the value of that truckload is worth over a million dollars!! WOW:eek: 740ILMIKE 03-20-2008, 11:24 PM I just have a feeling there is no platinum left in mine. If you bang on them with a hammer, they sound hollow and you hear a few small pieces of something moving around in there. JimmyBones 03-20-2008, 11:26 PM I got $150 per cat for the 93 740 at the scrap yard and $250 per 750 cat for selling them to a guy in Ohio where they don't have an emissions check but just see that it is there. Don't ever let your shop say that they can't let you have the old cat because they will recycle it for you because they are making money on the new cats and then selling the old ones to the scrap yard.:mad MattBrown0761 03-31-2008, 12:27 PM blown out ones...$0...full ones around what he said..or at least that's what i can pay for them 94bimmer740il 04-25-2008, 06:28 PM I have some cats in the garage from an audi. now lets see what i can get for them. hmmmm... |
