AwesomeIsLuke 03-20-2008, 05:24 PM The only way I'd want my car to go is in a glorious hail of gunfire...
...even better though is if it didn't go at all ;)

Some posted a picture of a protection model that went through that punishment a while ago. Apparently the people inside were fine but that must have been scary.
So they found a fall-guy already.... (no pun intended).

bond style, of course.
victoriabmw27 03-20-2008, 10:28 PM I cant believe you guys being so harsh when an E32 has lost its life and her owner is now left to face the world without his love by his side...

Not trying to change subject, but how is the weather in Dubai? Send some of us who are stuck in the wet and miserable midwest some pics of Paradise!!
mahmudb 03-20-2008, 10:48 PM I don't think its an e32. The front grill looks like its an e34.
JimmyBones 03-20-2008, 11:49 PM I don't think its an e32. The front grill looks like its an e34.
No way, those front grills are the big ones that curve out at the top like for a 740/750 because the 735 and E34 5 series had the small narrow kidney grills. Plus that is one hell of a long wheelbase car.
dophineh 03-20-2008, 11:59 PM I think it's an e34. Call me crazy.
SBK740 03-21-2008, 12:04 AM My money is on E34 too. Check out the picture on the Wikipedia page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_E34.
Either way, sad story for a beautiful car. I remember seeing pics over here from 9/11 of heaps of crushed cars and cars ruined from all the debris. Horrible!
ProStreetDriver 03-21-2008, 12:14 AM now we all bow our heads in a moment of silence.....
dophineh 03-21-2008, 12:20 AM Well, I've spent the last 5 minutes studying both models on google photo, and damn they are similar. The differences are hidden by rocks in that photo.
But the back tail lights are a give a way I feel. My call is e34. :D
victoriabmw27 03-21-2008, 01:18 AM Tail lights? Um, i cant really see the tail lights...
R2dmax 03-21-2008, 02:56 AM I don't think its an e32. The front grill looks like its an e34.
You are correct. I have an e32. The grill top of the trunk lid and sidemarkers are different. Either way, a sad and unneccessary loss:(

Hmmm, "glorious hail of gunfire" ...you mean like what the Sri Lankan Defense Minister went thru a year or so ago...and survived with just a few blood stains on his shirt? :stickoutt
Thank goodness someone had the foresight to purchase an e38 Security Model (a step up from the Protection model sold here in the USA)

adilSD 03-22-2008, 11:46 AM I sure hope there were no occupants in the flatliner.
Yesterday I posted a link to a Polish head-on crash, nothing gory. The post never made it and I thought the moderator may have removed it. But looking at this current post, I doubt that.
So here it goes:http://gazetaolsztynska.wm.pl/Wypadek-limuzyny-rzadowej--Pracownik-BOR-u-nie-zyje,42492
Government security detail on a joyride colliding head on on icy wet road. BMW occupant not wearing a belt got killed. Truck occupants survived.
Adil
