Hey I am going to be selling my car in the next month or two and I am trying to get an idea what to expect. It is a 1996 328is, and it has under 83k miles on it. I am the third owner, and I have a folder filled with service records. The previous owners were extremely easy on the car, and so was/am I. It is in incredible condition.

I bought this car last April at 69k miles, and I have since put ~12-13k on it.
It is Schwarz II black, and is a 5 speed. Sport package (sport wheels, sport seats, sport suspension though it was upgraded) It is completely up to date on maintenance, and only has two minors things wrong with it. There is a dent in the hood (someone stepped/jumped on my hood...long story) (I rolled most of it out, but there is still a bumpy section) and there is a small (3-4 inch) dent on the drivers side door. It is not serious and can be popped pretty easy. Besides that the car is in phenomenal condition.

Sport Package
Heated, powered seats.
83k miles
Synthetic Oil changes every 3-5k
Clean title, no accidents of any type
Full service records
Sunroof
Ambers ftw
NO RUST!
Clean NJ Inspection
Tires are decent, maybe 4000-5000 solid miles left
18 button OBC

Maintenance/Mods

Exterior: 9/10
-OEM M3 bumpers and front lipl
-OEM M3 Mouldings
-OE M3 mirrors from Eurosport/Eurospec?
-97+ Grills
- 20% tints

Interior: 9/10 (no rips in seats, headliner is fine, no problems)
-Alpine CD/MP3 player, compatible with IPOD's
-Full Speaker set up (BSW midranges/tweeters, Infinity Kickpanel speakers and 6x9's in the back, 2 12" Pioneer subs in the rear, aftermarket Amp)

Suspension:
-OE X-Brace
-Bilstein Sport shocks/struts
-H&R Sport Springs
-TMS F+R Sway bars
-TMS Reinforced RSM's
-Rear subframe has reinforced TMS plates professionally welded on
-Powerflex LCAB's and RTAB's
-Fresh Alignment ~400 miles ago
-All new suspension components have 1-1500 miles on them

Drivetrain:

-Radiator, thermostat, waterpump, tstat housing, fan clutch, coolant flush, expansion tank, etc

Brakes: ~1500 miles old
-New Brembo OEM blanks rotors, front and rear
-PBR ceramic brake pads, front and rear

I am sure there are many other things I am forgetting. This car has low miles, is mechanically perfect, interior 9.5/10, exterior perfect besides two dents. Way up to date on maintenance (brand new suspension, cooling system, and brakes). I just spent over $2000 on these maintenance areas, and the car is running perfect. The only things I can honestly say that are wrong, are the two minor dents. NO RUST!

Because the car is in extremely good condition, and has just had over $2000 in maintenance, I am looking for $10,000. This is just a feeler for now, but in a couple months it will be for sale. Please let me know any feedback you can offer. Thanks.

I will have pics up sometime this weekend.

sounds like somewhat of a good deal. Pistures will tell it all. With that low mileage and service records i wouldnt see a problem getting around what you asking.

Sorry not looking for any trades right now, unless it is an e36 m3 plus cash from me, as this is probably what I am buying next.

Thanks! I refinished the Style 5's and I love them, but I am now selling those also to fund my purchase of most likely an e36 m3.

I am going to try to have pics up sometime tomorrow morning, so everyone can see how clean the car is, although it is actually slightly dirty at the time.

The car is dirty. I will try to clean it tomorrow if it isn't super cold.

The headlights and the ZHP shift knob are not included, it will have the stock shift knob and head lights. The subwoofers also might not be included, not sure yet.

Oh, the IPOD is not included, it's just to show you how it works with the cd player.

Thanks for your input. This is about the price I am looking for $9000-9500, and will not be letting it go for any less, I am still deciding on that exact price though. I have decided I am definitely selling the car, but it will be officially for sale in about a month (end of April, beginning of May). I just need to set a bit more money aside for my next car. So keep your eyes out for my official for sale thread. Thanks!

I'll try. I'm really interested! I didn't realize how hard it is to find a manual 328is let alone have all those nice mods and low miles.

Haha yea if you search autotrader.com for 328is, you will find 3 if you are lucky, and out of the 3 they are mostly crap.

If you are really interested, I may decide to sell it sooner, and just ride around in my mom's POS Oldsmobile Intrigue until May. Send me a PM if you want to talk further, thanks!

Thanks

Also, I have always kept my car waxed and garaged. The two previous owners also both kept the car waxed and garaged, so the paint is fantastic.

Sean this definitely sounds right up my alley....I am waiting as probably almost everyone knows in this forum.....to buy my first BMW around May when our semester ends.....I would be interested in knowing more information about the car in regards to maintenance/ performance upgrades and maybe even seeing it when I get home from college in May. Definitely keep me posted if possible send me a pm more about the car. Thanks.

i am gonna be honest with you but the car should actually be lower now since u have significant amount of mods done to the car which depreciates its value. i got my 323is with 52k miles and for 9700 looked braaaaand spanking new like outta the showroom, sounds like yours kinda, but stock. it was valued at almost $14k on kelly blue book. so i got lucky, but yah i understand you put a ton of dough on maintenance stuf and redoing the suspension, i might just ask who did it for you haha but good luck on the sale. i have a cousin who is in the market, i live like 20 minutes away (parsippany)

Thanks for your input. To be honest with you, I have already received multiple offers for my asking price. The mods I do have are not silly things, but also address maintenance issues, such as brakes/suspension/cooling system. And who did the work for me? I did, along with the help of my father who has experience as a mechanic for 30+ years. Again, thanks for the input, much appreciated.

I'm definitely interested if you've still got the car in a couple months (around May/June). I've been looking for a 328is forever and yours is the cleanest, lowest mileage, and one of the only manuals I've found. I'll keep an eye on it, but otherwise good luck selling it. Very clean car!
