Did anyone see the white E92 M3 coupe around campus today? Two of my friends saw it and got a picture of it. One said he looked like a student, what student has that kind of money?

alot of students have that kinda money, you never know. My dad got me started early on investments, not saying I have enough to afford a new M3 but some people do

As stated before, not necessarily. Even if I could afford one, not my choice as a college car. Well not one that I'd have around a campus anyway.

That is practically an invitation for trouble.

not necessarily, but *most likely*

i wonder what the insurance is like on that for a college student...

Who knows, either way that's too expensive of a car for a college student, unless it's some older guy who just came back for his master's or something, and already is successful and has a good job.

It could just be someone visiting too ya know? I used to have my E46 M3 parked on UD's campus when I would visit my ex girlfriend there....I definitely wouldnt have wanted that car on campus full time when i went there though...

There's a few E92s that drive around UIllinois's campus... one parks not too far down the road from me. I have yet to see an M3 yet... although last year I did see a chick driving an E30 M3 in Alpinweiss :drool

Seeing one at a college is more understandable than seeing one at the high school.. In the student parking lot.. (Yeah, he has a rich mommy and daddy and has no class about it at all)

I see a lot of college kids driving expensive cars... E46 M3 w/CF & CSL goodies + HREs, one kid who recently traded his '07 335i AT for an '08 335i MT (both E92, assume he wanted a manual car), '06 RL, and an E60 M5. These are all on the UW-Madison campus, and for some reason, they're all Asian kids.

:shifty Well thats all due to the outsourcing. :)

I'm sorry man - but the best BMW $$$ story is the Alpina B7 story. That story is legendary - and in my opinion - nothing can top that. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Whats the story on the B7?

Guy orders new B7, doesn't want wifey to find out how expensive it is, so he wants us to remove EVERYTHING Alpina on it, so that she thinks it's just a regular 7-series.

Turns out I didn't hear the truth though, or someone changed their mind, cause it looks like all we did was de-badge the trunklid :confused

Is this the same one I saw in Fitchburg?

I saw him and his car at Zimbrick and commented on how young they looked to be driving that car. I'm glad I drove shit boxes in college, makes me appreciate cars so much more. I can't imagine driving a $50k in college.

Hell no I wouldn't turn down a free M3, who would? I'm not hating the kids that drive them, I don't like their parents for spoiling them and not making them earn their own money.

Kevin2772, good point, they could just be visiting. I haven't heard of any more sightings of this car since last week, nor have I seen it myself.

What's the big deal? I got a 750il as a high school graduation present. Who cares? :ponder Be thankful for what you have and don't worry about what other people do.

It's not a big deal at all, I really don't care. This thread was just supposed to be about a new M3 being sighted at Purdue and to see if anyone here saw it.

Nope, this one's still in the showroom waiting for delivery... trying to figure out how to break it to the wifey?

I cannot say that people that drive nice cars early in life don't appreciate them.
It is not always the case that parents are spoiling the kids either.

Blanket generalizations - IDK - seem rather pointless.

This kid may have worked hard and made wise financial decisions to get the car. Or perhaps he made an agreement with his parents. Perhaps parents are enthusiasts as well and have the means to give this level of car to their kid.

Who knows?

I'd rather meet the guy that owns it, and get him out to meets and stuff. Most enthusiasts are thrilled to find other peopel that love cars and appreciate them.

Spoiled brats are condescending pricks. In which case, expect the M3 to be in terrible shape in 6 months.

+1 to everything he said. I'm not going to judge the guy without even talking to him. Maybe if we organize a Purdue meet he'll show up.

BTW, Purdue guys, my friend said it's usually parked near Stadium and Grant, went by there myself today but I didn't see it.

Well, I drove down Stadium today to see if I could find anything and I saw it. That thing is sick!! Then on my way back to my apartment I took a detour down McCormick Rd. out to 52 to open it up a little bit and I saw a black 335i coupe w/ tint and angel eyes on zoom past going the other direction.:drool::drool: I also parked next to a nice looking silver E46 325ci w/ Umnitza, K&N, and Borla stickers on it w/ angel eyes (probably Umnitza I would assume). Pretty cool looking car (I've actually seen this one around a bit lately).

Today is Bimmer day at Purdue apparently. :buttrock:buttrock

Agreed. Especially in the ghetto..

Can't tell you how many countless times I've watched someone parallel park their taurus into the ford fiesta sized spot and then decided (after the fact) that it was too large for the space...

Hell someone hit my truck last semester on lawnview, and my giant tow hooks probably caused them more damage than me! (serves ya right!)...
