Here is the story. Myself and a few others are doing the 24 Hours of Lemons race.

If you don't know what this is just google.

Basically you are limited to paying $500 for a car.

That said.

I'm looking for a car that runs, drives, turns, and stops.

I could careless what the interior looks like, if it has rust, etc etc.

It just has to be able to be started and driven. I'm not trying to be cheap, it is the rules of the race. Unfortunately I sold a car like this a few months ago - before I knew of the race.

It was an iX. Needed an interior, had 250k, but it started, drove, and stopped. I prefer an E30 and guess that is about all that is out there at this price. Willing to work with someone that wants to part out the interior. Don't need much of the heating systems interior trim etc etc.

MUST BE A MANUAL.

doesn't anyone have a car that's been sitting where your wife is saying "get rid of that thing already!"

how are they gonna know if you paid 500 or 5000 for it ? what if you already have a car that you paid 5000 for that you want to enter in the event ?

at any given time during the race if they suspect that your car is worth more than $500 they take it and destroy it in a field with a big ass tyranasaurous rex looking piece of heavy equipment. seach youtube.

and at the end of the race they reserve the right to take the car from you.

you don't want to spend for than $500 for the car.

however safety - brakes, fire supression, seats, roll cage etc are not part of the $500 budget. the car itself must be $500.

yeah, um, I'm looking for a BMW that is already ruined. plus, I'd rather have to fix an M20 than some POS honda! it is an endurance race and the M20 is bulletproof.

We have a group of 6 of us from e46 fanatics (6 max) however I'm not sure everyone has locked in. with the cost of the car and everything else you need (firesuit, entry fee, etc etc) we are looking at $1000 a person to be on the team and drive.

I'm interested, but honestly bud - my schedule is too ridiculous and "not-flexible" when I really think about it. I need a 9-5 mon-fri gig....
