View Full Version : Southeast Sharkfest 2008 Important Updates!
xing6666 03-18-2008, 11:41 PM Well folks, we've arrived at the 5-week mark for Southeast Sharkfest 2008, Winston Salem, NC! The event is shaping up to be a great one; very laid back and should be nice and relaxed, especially on Saturday.
Some information about registration. The registration deadline is Friday, April 4th! It is EARLY this year due to combined factors, however please do get your registration in by that time to help us out and avoid late registration fee's.
SHIRTS will be available even for those not attending on the SE Sharkfest website within the next 24 hours. I will post again with this information.
We have some great events planned this year! Flow BMW in Winston Salem, NC has been extremely generous with us and will be providing breakfast and shop tours on Friday morning. The drive will provide us with excellent photo opportunities and will lead us to Shelton Vineyards for wine tasting and lunch.
Saturday will provide us with a relaxed show day, complete with massive grills outputting burgers, hot dogs and perhaps some other items at no cost to our registered attendees. Dinner will be prepared by grill-master JT and team who will have some excellent, genuinely home-made deliciousness for us. I guarantee it will be better than any of the food we've had in past years.
Sunday will be unlike any of our past Sundays! Unfortunately, Lee the self-proclaimed "breakfast-boy" is out of a job this year. :) Flow BMW has generously allowed us to join them in their corral, hospitality tent and provide us with food as any who would like to come enjoys the Grand Am Rolex Race (Bosch-Engineering 250) at the Virginia International Raceway! (Tickets are about $10 each and the responsibility of each attendee).
A huge thanks to Flow BMW for all of their help this year and I can't wait to see all of you folks again!!!! Let me know if you have any questions at all! :buttrock

joecautela 03-30-2008, 11:56 AM OK..now I'm counting down...coming home from work this morning it was 26deg and the 1st bunch of Hotrods I've seen this yr we're in the diner parking lot...2 guys with chicks on Harleys in Heavy leather got on the Pkway in front of me...I looked on the calendar when I got home and I'm pulling out of here 4wks this thursday. I've got a moderate list of stuff I want/need to do and will start hitting it this week. Everybody on schedule? yeah baby!
detroit635csi 03-30-2008, 12:15 PM yeah my car is out of hibernation...if everything goes good for the next few weeks with her i'll be rollin out of mi round 330-4am thursday!
detroit635csi 03-30-2008, 12:16 PM ....and my slight lack of respect for signs with numbers on them may get me down close enough to catch up with jeff.. if i leave early enough that is..
jeffcfp1 03-30-2008, 06:26 PM Joe, no, not on schedule. See, when you own an M car and read all of these board posts, ie S38, MyE28, BigCoupe you worry about everything, like plastic chain guides and rails disintegrating on the interstate, so next Sunday, the 6th or 7th she goes to my master mechanic (head guy huge bim dealer , 20 years exp.) for chain, rails, Evo Sprocket, Euro headers and cams - can't be running the risk of breakdown, never mind any level of embarrasment in a pedal to the metal contest driving down or in any rally there. Good part is he's invited me to work with him a bit, should be fun. Can't wait!!!!
PRJKTGRMN 03-30-2008, 10:04 PM man i really wish i could make it down this year, it sounds like a really fun weekend!!! :(
i will be sure to make next year's gathering

oh man, these cars are made for 70+ driving!!! Autobahns baby!!! 70 in Wolfie feels like 50 haha. And then when i hop in other cars, its the opposite. I feel like im comfortably cruising at 80, most of the time not noticing when the car creeps to 90...they are deceiving cars, especially with the 3.25 diff in Wolfie,
-Jeff
joecautela 03-31-2008, 08:04 PM 70mph on the parkways around here is usually bumper to bumper! 70=2200r's and about 21-23mpg. No traffic I bump it up to 75 or so and it just starts to get it's legs! On my blowout runs 90-100 and it's rock steady, just wanting to take off!
