Pun intended.

We got our 135i demo car in yesterday at work and I got to take it for a quick spin yesterday. All I've got to say is that it's seriously a cool car. I break the car down like this:

E30 crisp steering
E36 size
E46 M3 power
E90 technology

"Nimble" is the way I'd drive the car on the road. It's perfectly designed and balanced for what it's supposed to do.

To me the car is a BMW in the purest ideal. I couldn't be happier with what they did with this car. It was funny that parked next to an E92 M3 the brakes on the E87 are much more visually appealing than those on the M car.

I want that 1 series convertible REAL bad. What's the average base price for those? How much can they be leased for?

Just out of curiousity.

Ty,

Will you be buying a 135i?

Ty,

Most likely - when my lease is up on my E90.

I got to drive one yesterday too....that little car is a blast...!! we had our monthly BMWCCA dinner meet and a sales guy took it as a surprise. .. by the way, the brakes are very sensitive too... you just barely touch them and they respond fast. a little pic getting ready to drive the 135i..

I like the 135i but it needs a drop :)
BTW is a 135i faster than a 335i?
I figured lighter weight car + same motor= faster...

also is there going to be a 135xi?

Hey Rolando - good sitting next to you at the Everglades chapter dinner last night.

I have to echo - the 135 is pretty sweet indeed. It was an automatic - guess the manuals are not available (yet?). I was worried that the lines would look a bit goofy in real life - as some of the marketing pics look kinda funny.

The one they brought was jet black and very nice. It looks great in person.

Oh, and the trunk is bigger than that on my e36 convertible...

I totally agree with you. The car looks really good in person. It is roomy inside and the trunk is pretty big too. You know what they say,, looks are deceiving :confused. :alright

It's amazing how things get confused -- we took delivery of our 135I with manual transmission on 3/15/08.

What the dealer has for a demo, is really what the dealer ordered for a demo car. The dealer probably elected to order the auto to appeal to a greater number of potential buyers.

The car is a blast. I have 556 miles on the car and expect to have achieved break-in miles within 10 days. :D

My local dealer only has auto's. They don't have a manual coming for at least another month, and it may be a custormer car.

Had 1-series galore here. I have 4 minutes left on battery and don't think I'll get it uploaded in time... Might have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I test drove the 1er last weekend and mostly put down a deposit for one this morning. I "could" easily afford it, but I really "shouldn't" so I had to resist my primal urges this time :( I'm still kicking myself for it, but I'm sure my future self will be glad I passed for now.

On another note, I test drove the new M3 this morning and it's tempting to get one over the 135i, but the 1er was just more practical.

Buy the 135 now and lease an M3 in 2-3 years when the money factor is better. That's my plan.
