So I was wondering if I had a sulev. Under the hood it says it falls under the ulev II standard. So is this an m56 motor then? Btw build date 09/04 325i. Is it possible to find intakes for this motor?

Yes its a m56...as far as intake options I'm clueless. I do know that you're rocking some M54 parts such as intake manifold, MAF and other parts.

my understanding is that there are no engine mods available for the M56 SULEV. best to focus on suspension and maybe performance automatic transmission software (not sure if you can put that on the SULEV or not)

Well I only ask because upon inspecting engine it doesn't look like a sulev motor. It has the oil filler cap in the correct place and I don't have that weird charcoal filter in my air box... Were there any regular m54s in CA after 2003?

yes. i have an 04 330 and its not a SULEV (i dont think any 330s were). also i read on e46 fanatics that the SULEVs only came with automatics.
