Really, just tinkering around with the idea right now. I adore this car, but wondering if another enthusiast would like her enough to pony up or swap.
It started life as a 93 525. Alpine white with dove gray interior.
Stock bits worth mentioning:
- Dual roofs work fine
- Seats/carpet/dash = in great shape
- Driver's door panel could use some love due to delaminating
- New headliner
- Nice, legal tint
- Everything else works great. Cold A/C and hot heat.
- SRS light on due to me being a douche and turning the key with the steering wheel removed.
Suspension:
- Bilstien HD's all around
- SLS removed
- RD swaybars
- B&G springs (2" drop) - touring specific, shipped from Germany
- Complete front end rebuild with Lemfoerder parts
- BBS Style 5's in near mint condition with new Cooper Zeon's.
Engine/Trans
- 1997 S52 conversion. Compression: 185/185/182/185/181/185. No smoke, ever, starts in 1/2-1 rev of the starter
- BavAuto H.O. coils
- Every single sensor and electronic bit on the engine is new
- New water pump & fan clutch
- Dr. Vanos stage II will be installed this weekend
- New cats this weekend
- Turner OBD1 chip
- ZF-310 5-speed conversion. New seals installed. All new OEM/BMW parts unless stated below
- Understeer.com SSK
- Custom driveshaft made in Atlanta
- UUC Motorwerks lightweight flywheel
- Sachs M5 clutch kit
- 3.46 LSD
- Remus muffler installed last week
Body
- Nearly dent-free and rust-free example
- Genuine Hella Euro headlights
The bad
- Hood could use a re-spray where someone buffed through the paint
- Mirrors could also be re-shot due to scratches
- Door handle seals need to be replaced
- 1/4" rust-bubble on pass. front door - down in the corner.
- 3" dent below driver rear tail-light where someone hit it with a shopping cart.
Price: I have no idea what to ask for it. Entertaining offers. I've seen lesser wagons go for over $12k.
Trades: E34 M5's, M-roadsters, Z4, something interesting and cool. Try me.
The odo shows 177k, but that is misleading since most of the car has been replaced. This car can be driven anywhere - anytime. It is dead-on reliable and really fun to drive. I get comments on the car almost every time I stop for gas. Usually it's something like: "That car is HOW old???!??" :)
Like I said - I don't have to sell, or even really care if I do. However, if someone wants it and is willing to deal or trade - like they say: Everyone has their price.
Thanks
