I just picked up some style 5's, so it looks like I'm on the market for some tires again, all mine are 16's. I would prefer to pick up some RE-01's again, but unfortunately, they're a bit out of my price range and $208 more than the Khumos. I got roughly 12-13k out of my RE-01's before I took them off to put the winters on, and they still have a decent amount of tred left, I'd say they'd make it through this summer down to the wear bars. I'm a little worried because I've heard stories of the Khumos being gone after 8k or so, which I won't tolerate... so, how long have yours lasted, on what car?

Well, I had heard good things about Khumos so I got a set of SPT's. I know not mx's but still the same manufactuer. My 325 is my daily driver, so I did not want to put out alot of $$ on tires just to use them up. I had them on 13 months, and about 15K miles. Hardly what I had expected. So I am trying a different brand. (BTW Tire Rack is awesome, 1 day UPS ground shipping, and excellent service/prices) Good luck.

On my Honda S2000 the rears lasted 12,000 close to wear bars. The fronts were good for 30k.

if your fronts were good to 30k, think I can eek 20k out of the set if I rotate every 5k or so?

Honestly, they're cheaper than most all seasons and all the other high performance summer tires, I already have a set of Dunlops mounted on my 16's for winter use... seems like the best way to go...

I bought Kumho SPT's last time around but they didn't last as long as the MX's did. I've got 94k on my S2000 so far and each time I need rubber I keep getting a cheaper alternative. S2000's run a stagger so the rears don't last too long. When the SPT's on the back run out this season I'll replace them but then next season when I'm in the market for 4 tires I think I might get a set of Sumitomo's. I just bought some for my 330i. Dirt cheap $61 for the fronts and $68 for the rears.

I went through 2 255/40-17's in one summer. However, there was a great deal of hooligan shenanigans in there...:D
