My first love is GM B-body's. The southern WI, northern IL people are trying to get a get together going at Rock Cut State Park just outside of Rockford. We haven't picked a date yet but it will be the end of May, beginning of June. For those that don't know, the B-body is Caprice, Impala SS, Roadmaster and Cadillac Fleetwood. If anybody is interested, you are more than welcome to come. We will be grilling and showing off of course. Our plans aren't official as of yet and are actually quite preliminary but if anyone is interested, chime in. I will check in and update as more info is gained. Expect lots of rough old cop cars that are white with blue interiors and station wagons!! One of my friends has a multi colored Caprice that is running low 12's at something like 112 mph! So anyway, as stated before, just trying to gauge interest.

The meet is outside Rockford. That's in IL.
The police/Impalas had the LT1 and a still suspension. At the time, as a spoof, they compared the Impala to the S500. Impala was far more fun to drive.

Aaaaahhh...the old BMW snobbery that I've heard so much about;). Just throwing it out there because it's a reason for people who love cars to get together and have fun. I was attending a B-body event at Volo when I met a guy there who brought his 740iL. I spoke with him about the possibility of getting a 7 in the future and he pointed me to this site. Lo and behold, many years later, I pick one up and here I am. Re-met him on this site too. He goes by T56 Impala. Anyway, like I said, just throwing it out there to see if anyone is interested. You might want to check out www.impalassforum.com (http://www.impalassforum.com) to see what people are doing to these cars, should dispel the "cab" mindset.

Well, the B-body snobbery kicked in. Seems like the main guys setting it up would prefer a strictly B-body gathering. They had talked about inviting other groups or clubs but looks like no deal now. Sorry to throw the offer out only to rescind it. I do hope to make some of the BMW gatherings in SE Wisconsin this summer.
