Hi guys!
I am looking for a daily driver and I came across an 88 528e A/T. 170k m, two owners, records, $1600. I haven’t driven it yet because the car is located about 200 miles away, but I like it from the pictures I saw and I am planning on going and checking it out.
Now, I am not asking for help with this particular car, (I know about the timing belt, electrical gremlins, trunk leakage, ets) I just want an opinion from somebody who owns or has owned an 528e A/T. Do you enjoy owning this car? Should I buy an528e or pass?

Also, if you know any good online articles, plese send me a link.

Thanks

I find the ETA engine as being extremely reliable. I have an A/T 525e (Euro) and it has near 300,000 miles on it with the original transmission and engine.

If you want a very fuel-efficient car with plenty of torque and are willing to sacrifice some performance, go for it. The Manual can be more fun, but as a daily driver, the A/T is reliable.
