Well, pardon me for not going to Olympia, wearing an American Flag shirt, blasting Creedence Clearwater Revival while waiving a "My bumper wouldn't drill into you!" sign over an overpass.

The amount of activism shown in that petition should reflect it's overall importance in the spectrum of things.

I'll get my lobbying suit on in a month if all else fails =P

Well there was a real, legitimate petition that was looking for signatures...maybe 3-5 years ago, IIRC. Never made it anywhere, unfortunately.

I'm more than willing to help out with the drafting of a letter that we could send out to our state lobbyist, there was a similar thread about this on NWSR a few months back but no one had the initiative to do anything so... yeh.

But we can skimp out on the petition and gather up a few facts, figures, pull a few things out of our asses and make a few things up, and confuse the lawmakers (trick them ;D) into repealing the damn law.

There are a few loopholes but loopholes are hard to deal with... I get pulled over at least once a week for no front plates but I've still got lots of excuses that should hold me over until at least 2010, then I'm screwed :(

As if you're some kind of saint that contributed a great amount to the thread that I ruined - my bad on attempting to enlighten the masses.

If by 800 you mean another 800 pointless rows of unicode characters thrown into a meaningless database, then you're absolutely spot on.

Oh I wasn't hating, I noticed it too - I saw 4 bulletins on myspace this morning advertising the petition.

But this isn't the first one... I think the last one had something like 2200 signatures and nothing really came of it, the guy who started it didn't have the motivation to file all the signatures and further whatever he wanted to do with them.

Yea, they make it a real pain in the ass to actually get past the petition stage, remember the legalize marijuana petition? How many signatures do you think that one got? And it never got anywhere.

Democracy my ass

This is kind of like a lottery, I know its not going to happen, but its still fun to imagine. :)

Uh, you must mean the City of Seattle initiative for Decriminalization of Marajuana possession (not distribution) which successfully passed years ago.

Could be, lol, but the guys that I saw all had signs that read "Legalize Marijuana" It's not something that I particularly care either way about though

This would be nice. I've already had a couple tickets over this, but they seemed somewhat deferred by the euro plate. No pull overs in 2 years with it on.

All it did was make the possession of small amounts of cannabis a non criminal offense, they offered treatment in forms of drug rehab or whatnot in place of incarceration - it's still illegal to posses anywhere else :(

But it's a step forward in the right direction. :)

Do you drive like a total jackass?!?!

I had my first M3 for 4 years... my second for another 3... I didn't run a front plate on either one, not even as much as put it up in the front window.. add that to the fact that I often drive like a jackass... and have never, ever been pulled over for not having a front plate. Not even had it mentioned on the times I was pulled over for other things. Maybe I'm just living right. :redspot

No, I don't speed or drive illegally, I get pulled over on a weekly basis because of my flickering tail lights / no front plate, mainly because there are a lot of police that roam the areas I drive through.

Our cops suck...Well, at least as cops, it's kinda nice because you can easily get out of all the tickets. You can speed past them doing 60 in a 35, but as soon as a light goes out, you're F'ed
