v8 cams wont fit in an inline 6

just get performance cams, or better off swap in a more powerful engine.

Only Shrick, Alpina, and Hartge made performance cams, and none of them are available readily now. When a set does come up, they run about 2-3k US$. Gains are pretty much unknown, especially since you would have to get the car tuned to take advantage of the cams. X5 cams will not work, as they all have VANOS ends.

For the MAF, electric contact cleaner works best.

i6 means inline 6 cylinder. V8 means two banks of four cylinders in a v shape. You've got one or the other. If the car is a 540, you've got a v8, not an i6. This will help narrow your search for cams, and help avoid confusion.
