Does anyone have pictures of how the glovebox straps mount to the dash? My friend's e34 glovebox straps aren't mounted to anything so it sags all the way when open. I can't figure out where the straps mount to.

Already tried, the diagram isn't detailed enough. I've even tried ordering parts listed on realoem, but none of them seem to work/fit.

IIRC, there's a tab to put some small plastic retainer thru.. see #17.. goes thru I believe #21

Yeah, I ordered those parts and #21 is a thin flimsy plastic/foam washer like part. No way it can hold the weight of the glovebox. #17 seems to work, but not sure where/what it holds the strap to.

the glove box straps secure or hook on to a metal hook, its small and black....

its between the #17 cover and the edge of the glovebox compartment.

which end can't you figure out?

Upper or lower?

Lower goes to the pin that the "shock" is seen mounted to in the above diagram... held on there by a clip.

Too dark to take pictures of the upper at the moment, sorry.

no. not unless you have an e32... but the mounting point on the box is the same

why does the e32 have a shock and we don't?

I know that silly, but I meant more along the lines of: what does it do?

keeps the box from slamming open when you pull the latch and it is laden with items.

IF they fit on an e34 I sure wouldn't mind having one since i have my changer in the g-box.
