I wouldn't care if it was an auto, still very nice. But then again, how hard would it be to get it into the US? Damn Canadians.
SMRTASS 03-13-2008, 01:24 PM "572" is not "rare" for a Alpina model . . only the B10 V8 E39 has been made more times . . . .
BigM62 03-13-2008, 03:58 PM Alpina should have made side and rear skirts like AC Schnitzer did.:(
screwbiedoo15 03-13-2008, 04:04 PM Huh i never even realized that they didn't do that. that's too bad
SMRTASS 03-13-2008, 04:12 PM Alpina should have made side and rear skirts like AC Schnitzer did.:(
no they shouldn't have . . . Alpina is not a "bling bling" Tuner like AC Schnitzer . .
Custom3 03-13-2008, 04:15 PM Damn auto!! Shouldnt the steering be on the other side since it was in japan? And that motor looks like an m20 with an m50 type intake manifold.

Never seen an m30 intake manifold before? :confused
Binjammin 03-13-2008, 05:30 PM He's got an m50 car, he might not have seen an m30 car before.
slocar 03-13-2008, 05:33 PM Yes, but he's been registered here for 3 years ... the sheer amount of pics that get posted ...
e24mpwr 03-13-2008, 06:54 PM Man...would love to have one. Anita's blue one is pretty much perfect, and it still makes me smile just to think of when I got to drive it.
Getting it federalized wouldn't be a picnic, but for that money, grab it, tranny swap it and figure it out! (ok - ok I know swapping would kill the value...)
EDIT: just realized the is the "normal" B10, not a BiTurbo like Anita's. That...is the car...
SMRTASS 03-13-2008, 07:29 PM Damn auto!! Shouldnt the steering be on the other side since it was in japan?
there are many cars in Japan which are LHD . . . especially Porsches and Bimmers . . built for central europe . . and then shipped to Japan . . and I'm not even sure if Alpina ever made RHD cars . . .
btw . . I think I saw this car at a BMW meet back when I lived in Edmonton . . . funny!
slocar 03-13-2008, 07:54 PM You bring it to the states, buy a beat up 535im with a clear title, swap the tranny, swap the vin numbers and just pass it off as a 535 for the rest of time.
then part out the real 535 ... nobody will ever know and you got yourself one hell of a car, with none of the headaches
zener 03-13-2008, 08:18 PM E34 B10 with automatic... That's new to me. I wouldn't want E34 Alpina with automatic.
B10 BiTurbo with manual :buttrock
BigM62 03-13-2008, 08:36 PM no they shouldn't have . . . Alpina is not a "bling bling" Tuner like AC Schnitzer . .
I don't think (to compliment a very agressive/elegant front spoiler) that side/rear skirts equate "bling-bling".:confused
xcaliber003 03-13-2008, 08:46 PM Beautiful B10. I wouldn't mind owning it especially since it only has about 20k miles.
skylinergtr 03-13-2008, 10:41 PM i dont believe that the car has only 32,000kms. i think most of the cars that are imported from japan are rolled back. they have no carfax or anything there to keep track of the cars. i work at a shop, and we always get cars that were japanese imports (mainly mercedes) that have such problems as head gasket, cooling problems.. and so on.

Some, yeah...othertimes you get lucky. I've just rolled 40K on my JDM import - no carfax, but plenty of evidence to support the milage.
Pretty easy to get head gasket & cooling problems when the car only does 1500 km a year and spends the rest of the time exposed to Japanese weather. My car had all kinds of rubber rot & other fiddly crap...$3k on top of my purchase price and I'm all good. Sure could use a cut polish, though!
brsteel 03-14-2008, 12:57 AM I have heard you can import these vehicles to the USA as long as they have a valid Canadian VIN, which this car should have. Because it has been inspected, certified and registered in Canada. Don't know for sure if its true, but did hear some thing to that affect on the Nissan Skyline boards
brsteel 03-14-2008, 01:22 AM The best way to buy Japanese vehicles is to get maintenance docs to support mileage, and have a good buyer set up in Japan that knows what he is looking at. that said, there are lots of cars coming out of Japan with no docs, and extremely low k. You may have a hard time believing whats on the clock until you see the car. I have imported over 15 cars from Japan, some without docs and have never doubted the mileage on these vehicles. One I have now is an 89 M5 with 128,000 km on it, I have deliberately left the water pump on the vehicle and not changed it because it is the original, and the vehicle came with no docs. I am a certified Mercedes Benz Tech and have worked on the vehicle, replaced the Intake manifold gaskets, radiator, front sway bar links and rear accumulators among other things. The engine is immaculately clean inside, still has almost all the original front suspension, except for the sway bar links, the interior is immaculate and the car has been well maintained or it would be falling apart, especially if it had the odo rolled back. Without a doubt some vehicles are getting the odo's rolled, I went to purchase a Lexus that was originally from the USA, then shipped to Japan, I was going to Import the car to Canada, called Lexus USA, they confirmed Mileage at 80,000+ last service in Florida, it was up for sale at a reputable auction in Japan with 24,000 km on the odo. I would be most concerned about gray market vehicles that did not originate in Japan. Japanese Shakan testing occurs every two years and the odometer had better have the correct k's or they must claim that the odometer has been changed and supply documentation. this is kept on record at their motor vehicle department. The major auctions in Japan have easy access to this info, if someone is caught listing a vehicle without claiming the correct km or notified them the odometer has not been changed and supplied documentation they would most likely loose their license to sell used vehicles in Japan. If that is their lively hood they loose their ability to do business. Some of the vehicles I have imported Include 92 M5 59,300 documented km's, 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale 45,000 k, no docs, 1992 SL500 AMG hand built 6.0 liter 86,000 documented km's, 1992 Nissan Skyline GTR 89,000 documented km's, just bought a 1990 E34 Hartge, to name a few. Sorry so long winded, just needed to explain how some things work over there.
