View Full Version : My New Toys Thanks to Mel and Habbie
E34Mekanik 03-13-2008, 02:02 AM Just received both packages today and tomorrow is install day.
Habbie sold me some 35W 9006 6000K UDD HID Slims.
Thanks to Mel Abrahams and his incredibly tasteful selection, I also snagged a pair of brand new M-Tech mirrors, smoked tails, and smoked corners. (he accidentally sent me clear corners though.)
Lightning fast shipping on both sellers' parts. Definitely recommend doing business with both.

If clear corners are your thing, these are the ones to get. Crappy cell phone pic, but man they're gorgeous. They just look weird on my black beast. Made by TYE, $49 shipped at abrahamsmotorsport.com.
I'll post pics of the vehicle tomorrow after installation. :buttrock
Total: $434 (A week's wages, not bad!)

MTV525 03-14-2008, 11:41 PM Did the M-Tech mirrors come painted to match you car or will you need to have them color matched? Been looking into getting a pair.
mottati 03-14-2008, 11:59 PM another mirror question, were they from mel or where? I'm wanting to do this on my m5. Don't care about paint, i can do a fair enough job of that myself.
thanks..
E34Mekanik 03-16-2008, 01:13 AM The M-Tech mirrors are sick. Got mine from Mel Abrahams. They are an absolutely necessary E34 upgrade. Not just visual accessories, they are far more functional than stock mirrors. I was surprised by the blind spot feature. The face curves towards the outside (starting at a vertical white line) so you can see someone passing you up until they pass your mirror (not that that would ever happen.) Aesthetically, you can see the mirrors from every angle you look at the vehicle, especially from inside the vehicle. They have metal bases and come in a matt black finish, very easy to paint, or just enjoy as-is. I will eventually paint mine though. ;)

MMmmmpower 03-16-2008, 01:18 AM Sweet upgrades man, makes the car looks alot better!
E34Mekanik 03-17-2008, 01:07 AM Thanks! Snagged a few more shots. My "super white" fog and high beam bulbs look pretty hilarious when the HIDs are on though! Now I just need the
H1 kit for my fogs.

tonyroc14 03-17-2008, 01:09 AM how easy was the install of the mirrors?
E34Mekanik 03-17-2008, 01:22 AM There's a small phillips screw holding your speaker its housing. Behind the speaker there's a slightly larger phillips screw holding the speaker housing to the door. Behind that, there's a large allen screw holding the mirror to the door. That's it. Put mirrors on in five minutes. Installation requires common sense only. The mirrors aren't motorized, you just click-set them (which I prefer more). They are heated, so if your car has the heated mirror option (mine does not) they plug right in. I just tucked my car's mirror plug and the mirror's 'heat option' plug away from the screw and bolted them right on. Perfect fitment.

+1. Also, how hard/long did it take to install the tail lights?

Tails are really easy too. Your tail lights are four pieces. Clear or smoked tails come in 2 pieces. Open the trunk, pull your trunk liner out of the way, and unscrew the 3 8mm nuts that hold the tail housing to the car. Pull the tail out a few inches and unplug it. The way the housing is constructed, each bulb (2 x 7506 and 1 x 5008) twists into a plastic adapter which then twists into the tail housing. All three adapters make electrical contact with the housing, sending it to the plug, which then just plugs directly into the car. Just put your bulbs into the new housing, plug it in, and bolt it back on.

Ok, so where do I go to buy the mirrors? Do you have a link, contact number or something? I love those mirrors. Thanks!
