hey guys,
does an 83 323i have a rev limiter?
the other night i had a little drag with a mates mx6 turbo. as this is one of the few times i have taken the 323i to higher rpms i havent really noticed up untill yet but at 6000 rpm the car kicks back. its not pinging im sure. feels like the car is limited, but i wouldnt have thought an older car would have one.
???
thanks guys. :buttrock

just out of kick. 6k is when a 320 runs out of bite. maybe 6k is a little low for a 323 i dunno. maybe somethings broken, and the effects are only noticed at higher rpm. when do you normally shift? like 3-5?

Limit should be 6,400 or 6,600. The rev limiter is an ignition cut. You can install a rotor arm from an E30 to get rid of the limiter.

nothing after 6000, so no point reving that high.

I disagree. You can tell people how awesome your car is because it revs to whatever you want.
