I was reading the daily driver thread and was interested in hearing how many miles everybody had...

What year and how many miles? Any significant repairs?

11/04 build 2005 model; bought 11/07 with 25k, now at 29k.

No major repairs (known). All 4 rotors, pads, and brake sensors replaced at 26k by dealer after uneven wear and indicator light going off repeatedly. Chalking this one up to bad driving / maintenance by previous owner. No issues since, but only 3k on the clock with the new setup.

Please keep the information about repairs included in your posts. This could be extremely helpful going forward!

Bought 12/14/06, has 9100 miles as I drove to work today. Minor items only, I do have a wind noise (seal not tight) on driver's window that should be easily fixed next time I take it in.

imz4n - Looks like you got the most miles...good to see the car is still strong after that much as I plan to keep mine until 150k or so...

Overall sounds like the Z is a very solid car with little to no serious problems. Good to know...

'07 Z4 M Roadster with 1300 miles... just bought it. Check engine light on at 700 miles. Dealer said the oxygen sensors in the exhaust system were installed in reverse. Switched sensors... no more light, yet.

It's hard not to drive it. With the weather so great, I make excuses to go on road trips.

Got my '03 in late May '07, with 3k miles on it. Since then I've put about 7k on (hit 10k just last week). When I got it, the driver's side mirror was loose and the instrument cluster needed to be replaced - both covered while the warranty was still good. The third brake light lens got cracked on it's own this winter - not major, but I've read about this happening to other people.

I drive when I need to and have owned enough vehicles over the last 35 years so that I no longer have an urge to put on extra miles without a destination in order to prove I "enjoy" them. But thanks for the suggestion, kids.

Just traded in my 03 2.5i with 73k miles. I had to replace some kind of throttle control doo hicky. It was about $400. Put in a clutch at around $2k. Other than that, just normal maint. Now I have an 04 3.0 with 30k and a warranty to 55k or next January.

My '07 3.0si Roadster picked in August last year has about 3,850 miles on it. It is a semi-daily driver. If the weather is nice I take the car. If not, I take the truck.

ProducerJohn..... Do you mean you put a new clutch in at 2000 or 20,000 mi. Or do you mean it was $2000 to replace....Whoa!!!

What on earth was wrong with the steering column? That is such a unique item to replace.

Some of the early Z4's had a problem with (as best as I can discribe) drifting. When driving down a straight road you would find yourself consantly pulling the car back from drifting slightly to the left or right. This made driving long distances very exhausting. BMW put out a little known TSB about it.

It actually had to do with one part of the column, but the fix was a whole new assy.
