Is there anyone would be interested in the 745i complete turbo setup if i pull it out? i have no use for it. Im not savvy when it comes to turbo setups, but what should take with it?
Sad to see all this dead bimmers, several should't even be there. What a day. picked up pair of us ellipsoids, injectors off m50, mtec steering wheel off e30, aftermarket fog lights and several interior pieces. Fun.
mottati 03-13-2008, 12:24 AM what yard was this? They just let you walk around. that would be fun, used to do that in high school, found lots of good stuff. Figured liabilities would rule that out today.
that 750 interior is nice, leather console...mmmm:)
deprato07 03-13-2008, 12:25 AM i had a 750iL with almost 300K and it wasn't near dead.. that one must have been driven SO much, or abused worse than i abused mine!
screwbiedoo15 03-13-2008, 12:26 AM 745i turbo set up would be very cool for someone that knows a lot about turbos (that wouldn't be me...)
deprato07 03-13-2008, 12:27 AM ya if i knew alot more about them and if theyd work on our 535's id be up for it, but i dont, nor am i ready for a turbod car
Goathumper 03-13-2008, 12:28 AM I hate you...i cant even go past the desk at my local yards :(
romeox929 03-13-2008, 01:00 AM curious too...which yard is this?? i'm in need of a few parts
mottati 03-13-2008, 01:06 AM sounds like a good place for a bay area e34 meet! :devillook
robram12 03-13-2008, 01:14 AM curious too...which yard is this?? i'm in need of a few parts
not to sound stingy but i can't reveal that info... it's my source for goodies. lmk what you need and i can pull it out for you and just give me back what i paid for it.
Rob.... I don't know how you get in there.... They don't let me in half the time. And when I do get in, there ain't $hit there. Same place you got the suspension, right?
Bro.. you seriously gotta call me when you go again. Are you seriously going tomorrow?

ian right? no its not the same place. that place you're talking about sucks. but this place ^ is the same place where i got the suspension. finally got me an mtec steering wheel this time. if you're ever in sj let me know. yeah ill be pulling the turbo setup out off that 745i or at least the manifold got pm'ed about it. do you need anything?
Blutarsky 03-13-2008, 01:51 AM nice find. gotta love the bay area, tons and tons of old bmws around. very little inventory here in AZ, but nothing's ever rusted :)
attack eagle 03-13-2008, 01:55 AM Gale aka THe Stigg I think pulled all the bits from a 745 that were needed, thread on Bimmernut with pictures that might help you.
screwbiedoo15 03-13-2008, 02:02 AM Huh. I wish I knew of the good places in the Bay Area to find such good parts
Erick 03-13-2008, 02:05 AM o man i got to find the treasure map!
4500 RPM 03-13-2008, 02:14 AM If the 530 is a '95 then grab the goodies. You can make a buck or two off the E32s rearview mirror and rear map lights if the car is a '91+

im trying to restrain myself from taking stuff that i don't need. though they're cheap, sometimes it's hard to find buyers. i still have stock pile of various parts need to get rid off. but i never come home empty handed, i always manage to squeeze in some stuff in my pockets. (pointer: wear something with many pockets when you go to the yard). ie injectos, oxygen sensors, fuel pressure regulators, relays, shift knob, emblems... whatever fits. one time i was able to fit an lkm in my jacket.
too bad i could fit this thing in my jacket:

here's pics of the 535i:

decent interior:

complete engine and trans still in there.

here's the 93 530. i can't seem to find an immaculate driver seat in black. i bet this one had one, back seat is in perfect condition, not a single crease, but i guess somebody beat me to it.

hey808 03-13-2008, 08:28 AM I'd be interested in the turbo parts if you can yank them out. How much do you think it would cost me for everything? You can email me at: robertcatral@yahoo.com
barry8108 03-13-2008, 10:26 AM hi, i need some 635 parts, mainly the rubber strip that runs along the top of the drivers door, presses against the outside of the window as it goes up and down like a squeege, really need that part in good shape, thanks

make me a list of exactly what you need and i'll be happy to get them for you. as far as price go, i'll see what they will charge me and add a few bucks for my time and you take care of the shipping to your location.

lowell 03-13-2008, 11:59 AM On that 745 -- make sure you snag the DME (it's mounted up behind the glove box) and get the complete/uncut engine wiring harness if you can. That and the AFM are desirable parts. I would just pull the whole engine if it spins over freely. The head, if it's good and is an original casting, might be worth something. There are some other parts on the car that are worth having, esp if it still has the original rear suspension and buffalo/power/heated interior parts.
bmwpower 03-13-2008, 01:19 PM Man, I hate NJ....
No good finds here, except rust buckets and destroyed ghetto rides.

well, you're just contradicting yourself by telling me that. i understand that if i were out of state or living in so-cal, but c'mon. i could just go there and pick it up myself.
Fred in Houston 03-13-2008, 03:38 PM I saw that exact same "M" 528E at a junkyard in Houston and it was a little different than the regular 528E's...weird, maybe there IS a 528E M model?
Any chance that it has hood insulation in 1 entire clip-off piece rather than the usual 3 glued-on pads?
Thanks
Fred

What are they asking for the Sheepskin seat covers?

:lol:lol
lol, if you have to ask, you can't afford them!

Anything turbo-related (manifold, turbo--duh, intercooler, piping/lines, afm, harness and computer. Just let me know what you think it'd cost. I've been toying around with the idea of going turbo on the daily driver too. Boost is addicting. You can email me at: robertcatral@yahoo.com
yeewiz 03-13-2008, 10:48 PM I didn't see anybody say it, so here's my contribution to this community because we're in this to help each other. The way those cars are stacked on old rims, try the Pick N Pull yards. There's about 9 in the Bay Area. 2 in San Jose, 1 in Newark, Oakland, Richmond, Windsor, Sacramento, Fairfield, and Stockton. Some have a bigger European section than others. Ask a worker and they can tell you which yard does a better job with BMWs. Happy hunting!
Green525iT 03-14-2008, 01:14 AM curious too...which yard is this?? i'm in need of a few parts
I think he goes to PICK N PULL, theres a lot of those yards in the bay area. $2.00 entrance and bring your own tools.
romeox929 03-14-2008, 01:54 AM thanks!
