I am looking for euro bumpers, so I go to Maximillian web site and low and behold, they have a BMW parts catalog online. Soooo, I print out the bumper pages and go to my BMW dealer because I get a shop discount. HERE'S the rub. My cost for a complete bumper using the part nos in the Maximillian catalog is close to $600 from BMW. Yet Maximillian wants about $300.
Is Maximillian selling repop parts or genuine BMW parts? Are they luring you in with low prices and jacking shippng? What's the deal here? Anyone ever dealt with them?

bavauto had them for about 350 a while ago. then they stopped selling the front one. i'd only use the dealer as a last option. always too expensive.

Either they buy genuine bmw left over parts from liquidations of some sort, or they are repro.

FWIW I just price bumpers for a 3.0CS from Max. $4,700 for front and rear. Max sells OE and MT parts.

Call them and ask.

I have dealt with Maximillian several times and they have always been very good to me. Ask them if the bumbers are genuine or repro, they will tell you.

I just used their online ordering system which is really a front end to BMW Mobile Tradition and had my order in about 1 week. 15 different line items and not a single mistake. All the stuff I ordered was OEM direct from BMW. I have also found that dealer prices can vary greatly. In my experience the parts manager of the dealership has a LOT of freedom in adjusting the price.

If I'm not mistaken, Max is the official BMW Mobile Tradition source in the US. They may, accordingly, be getting/giving better pricing.

Its called dealer mark-up.

What's strange is, on E30 stuff my dealer and MAX are just about the same.

Until you need an appraisal and ask them to send you everything you have ever ordered and suddenly ignorance turns into depression and a sense of emptiness.
