Hey guys, just moved down to N.C a couple of months ago and I'm looking to get back into driving an E21 again since my 83 is still up in Ohio. Just wondering if anyone is from the area.

I live in Asheville and have had my project 320 for almost 3 months now. I know there are others in NC and in the upstate of SC. Welcome to NC, I moved to Durham in '87 and Asheville in '93. There's a great shop in Indian Trail (east of Charlotte) called Touring Car, Dan and Gerald are BMW experts. In fact, my car was one of their service guy's.

Cool! I really like this area, lot of nice people, and alot of stuff to do...as opposed to where I was originally from in Ohio. Hmm I may have to make a stop down there and see if they know of any other E21's for sale, I'd sure like to have another one.

I'm over towards Greensboro. I've had my E21 for about two months and so far it's been a blast.

Any others over there that are halfway decent that I could bring back to life? I have searched all over this region for one, and I still have yet to come across one. I passed one yesterday on the ride home from work..the paint was trashed but it looked nice. When I flipped around to chase the guy down, he made the light and I didn't haha.

They're hard to find, and I've been looking as I travel all over WNC. I know of one other in town that's used as a DD. None of the "auto recyclers" have one up here. I would think there would be a few in the Triad and Triangle regions though (more $$ being made down there). If I was rebuilding a Camaro I'd be swimming in them.

I'm from charlotte as well, but these days my e21 and I are mostly on the streets of greenville, sc.

Yeah I've noticed that its not easy to find on around here. I know of quite a few in ohio but....they have terminal cancer, and i dont want to go through that mess again. I'm hoping I can come across that one I saw in Lincolnton the other day and catch that guy.

I agree with you chrispy if you wanted to rebuild an F-Body....your in Heaven haha

I live in Raleigh and have had my E21 for almost 3 years. I Think I've seen maybe 8 E21's in the 8 years I've lived here. I see them for sale every once in a while, but they are either rusting away or way overpriced.

Yeah, sorry for just dropping off the face of earth in November, but I bought a dirt bike around that time and became completely addicted to riding that thing. I live on 100+ acres and can literally ride off of my back porch and have miles of trails to ride on, so I was riding every possible hour I could.

Now the bike is apart getting rebuilt and street plated, so after 4 months of neglect I'm back to give my E21 some attention it deserves.

I don't live in NC, but you might want to make plans to go to this event:

Always some nice E21's there. This will be my third time, and every year it's better than the last.

Hey we got about 14 e21s registered for the event so far, and had an Alpina 323 register the other day. It's going to be one helluva vintage BMW festivus this year! About 220 vintage BMW registered as of today:redspot

I also wanted to mention I do know of a decent non running e21 here in NC. If I don't buy it myself, i'll post some info on this site.
