If any local people could use e36 m3 stuff I have a complete car I'm taking apart starting tomorrow in Somerville, MA.

The shell is beat, title is theft recovery, and diff mount tore on the body so I'm just gonna part it.

Cluster was taken from m3 parts car, so it matches all m3 parts. 72,9xx. I know guy who built the car, mileage is correct.

Notable parts:

s52 with m50 manifold, m50 harness, s50 (506) dme. Needs something done with dual coolant temp sensor, turner has a solution for $45 I think, I'll call them and buy it today probably if it'll work for this application.

Complete ZF 5 speed swap. 10 miles on clutch.

double spoke 1 wheels with mixed tires.

3.23 lsd diff

black power vaders and m stripe rear seats

good black door panels

black arm rest

black headliner, pillars, dash, etc.

m brakes all around.

H&R race springs, fronts may be cut looking into it.

Body is black and pretty decent. Doors, front fenders, rear deck lid could all be used. Hood has a little dent, nose is rusty, bumpers are called for.

Only paintball rob I remember is big rob who wouldn't remember me because he was an uber baller. I've played once in the past 3 years or so with some buddies at BPS indoor. I flanked their whole team once, shot everyone I could see, they didn't call the game, so I assumed that someone from their team had taken position on our side. Found someone, shot them. Another guy witnessed that and we had a firefight and I came out ahead. They were both on my team. That was enough for me to retire from paintball happy :) It brought back memories to the time I shot leo's whole old team when it was 3 vs. me and my gun was shooting about 100fps. Paintball is fun :)

Ski bum let's chat. I have another 95 m3 parts car that is mint but I think EWS issues are giving me trouble getting it running.

This motor has lowish compression, although it runs strong. I was hoping it was just my tool, but it's consistantly 105-110 per cylinder. A little oil in the cyl and it spiked up to 160, so even if my tool is reading a bit low the rings still aren't sealing how they should. It's been sitting for a while so there are chances it'll get better with time but I can't be sure.

I'm considering keeping this motor for myself, or rebuilding it and selling, or selling to someone with full disclosure like you have now :)

I borrowed dealer plates and drove the car for real today. Alignment is horrific, one of the front bearings is clicking, something is terribly wrong, I got it up to 70 and I felt like I was going about 125 mph.

What my test drive showed me is that it seems to pull like an m3, and having such low yet consistant compression is weird, but I think the #'s are close to accurate at least.


Red hood rider once I have the windows and regulators out of the car the switches and pigtails are all yours.

what type steering wheel do you have (m-tech or stock 325is)? and how much

also darren (I think your name's darren, lol) the diff doesn't go in an e30 and I don't know if the driveshaft will fit, might need to be shortened or have a different rear half that bolts up to an e30 diff and is the proper length. r3v has tons of 24v swap info check it out

eeek! I see what you are saying. The compression is a little scary. I think we may need to talk about the other car that you have, or possibly talk about rebuilding this one - I'll help and I'll pay possibly if we can work something reasonable out.

Since I'm looking for a swap into my Touring it needs to be in some great condition since I don't want to hurt the high(er) value of the the touring with a bad motor swap.

I'm tight on funds now but for the 'right' price I could make it happen, but if things don't work out then I'll just wait until I'm not tight on funds and pay good money for the 'right' motor.

I've never played down at the cape.. I used the drive the red MKI mr2 around the southshore.. You shot an impulse I believe right?
Also back on topic how much are you looking to get for the diff?

If you were as big as the big rob I am thinking of you wouldn't fit in an mr2 I don't think.

$400 for the diff sound about right? I'm not sure if it's 6 bolt or 4 bolt, I can check tomorrow or maybe somebody knows what 98 m3's came with.

98s came with four bolt

What kind of shape are the diff and the internals in?

Rob is fairly big. He throws axes for chrissakes.

diff looks good, case is dry, no 1 wheel peel, no hums at 70mph but that's all I know about it, I'm not a diff whisperer unfortunately. You have to come check it out so I can see who the hell you are, hopefully you look the same.

Sam I see you have some M20 heads. I was thinking of building one up for my iX. My rocker arms are "shot" - meaning they work fine but when you go to do a valve adjustment the valves and the arms and well everything doesn't like to adjust. You CAN adjust it, but the head components have all 'grooved' together.

I have a MAJOR leak going on from my head gasket and or cam seal so I was thinking of just getting a new head putting some light weight stuff in it, perhaps a slightly more agressive cam and just swaping since I have to do the gasket and seal.

Do you have anything good down there?
