If you're like me......... I am NOT a mechanic, but want quality work and an honest mechanic who won't rip me off.
I found an awesome mechanic who charges excellent labor rates.

Check this out :

** You must supply OEM parts ** He won't put junk in your car - Period.**

With a small OEM discount, the parts were $ 640.00 Plus Tax
Here's what I had done.......

4 oxygen sensors replaced
Tune up
Fuel Filter change.

THE COST : $299.60 Tax Included
The owner even put the old parts in a bag for me to inspect.
the car runs great !!

Give Mr. Tanaca a call.
Tanacas Auto : 1 W Main St. Rockaway NJ (973) 586-4840

You couldn't handle that yourself? $300 is alot for simple stuff like that, nothing to boast about.

Let me break this down for you.

I am NOT an auto mechanic

My dealership wants $240.00 Plus tax to change the Spark Plugs

and almost a grand for the O2 sensors

I didn't even bother to ask about the fuel filter.

So for us NON mechanics...........$299.60 is a VERY GOOD price for all that work.

considering the dealer gets $ 120.00 AN HOUR by me.

It took him 2 hours to get one of the really tough O2 sensors off the car.....and he didn't even charge me extra.

Think about that.

It's a fair deal.

being a little hard on the guy fellas? Some are not all mechanically inclined.

OP, its good you found a reliable and fair mechanic. Very difficult to come by. Seems like you will be goin back to him for more work if you need it.

We all don't live next to Elizabeth....do we? Bill is an awesome guy and more than likely I am gunna use him, as I have in the past, when I need things done to the car I can't do. However, driving down there and back isn't exactly a 20 minute thing and doens't fit exactly perfect in a schedule escpicially when you live about an hour +/- (depending who you are) away.

but I've driven MUCH further in the past before I knew about this place down the block!

Good mechanics who charge a fair price are rare these days.
I will stick by him for sure :D
Others from the Morris County area should at least consider it
If you don't do your own work that is.

Tanacas auto is located at 1 W Main St. in Rockaway at the Gulf Station.
Well worth the trip.
His number : (973) 586-4840

$299.60 ( Tax Included ) is a GREAT price for labor
to have all 4 O2 sensors changed........Along with a tune up and fuel filter.

I probably saved close to $600.00...Maybe more !!
But you have to supply OEM parts

There was a guy there today with an E60 530I
Seems he is happy with the service, and low labor cost too.
