On a serious topic related note: I tend to use r3v when I need information on something or am looking to purchase something E30 specific (obviously). I tend not to engage in discussions and find that unlike bfc when you use the search function r3v will likely have the answer.

However if I spend too much time on the site I start to feel as though I have reentered high school and not in the good way.

r3v'ers are only mean to you if you ask for help, which means you're stoopid and deserve what you get!

I very much enjoy R3v, but I've been around there for some time and have gotten used to it. I was also a central part of Kate525i debacle so I have gained some notoriety there as well, for better or for worse. It's rare that I'm helpful there though because most of my energy is usually wasted in making fun of members typing/english skills. Over here I find it much easier to provide people with helpful info but I do try to make an effort over there for intelligent and understandable questions. There is a very knowledgeable OG group of posters on r3v so once you get past the initial uproar it's worth it for obscure e30 info.

Well it's 2:44am eastern and there are 77 people browsing the e30 forum (here on bimmerforums). I'm not even browsing them, which probably means there are only 10 people who know how to change their own oil.

R3v on the other hand has 100 people who can parrot what the complicated bits of doing mods they've never done are from reading every DIY ever posted, and every jordan post has 8 posts after it, 4 supporting him cuz he built a nice looking car and 4 saying what a dick he is.

I just say it's my favorite model specific forum for any car I've ever owned, and if you took all of the knowledge shared in a day there about e30's and built a car, and did the same with all the e30 info shared here in a month, I think r3v's car could tow bimmerforums'ses car faster than bimmerofrumsuse's car could move itself under its own power. And it would have a carbon fiber functional sunroof panel saving 5 lbs from the highest point of the car, holler!
