I purchased a 2006 M6 last month and I'm happy with it except for the exhaust sound. I would prefer something along the lines of a 70's muscle car or the new Mustang GT. You know american large V8 sound. Now before someone says I should have purchased something other than the M6 let me say I really love this car and traded a 2005 645 that I also liked a lot. I just was wondering if anyone had made a muffler change that worked out along these lines. Thanks Bill

I have the dinan exhaust, i love the way it sounds, but it is definitely not anything like a mustang GT, so i would not suggest it for you.

Do you think it's a great improvement over the stock BMW? Worth the 2K plus cost? A few others have educated me on the fact that the M6 V10 being a high RPM engine will never sound anything like the domestic V8's. Thanks Bill

I think it was worth it, it definitely sounds much more like a ferrari at high revs, and the pipes look great.

Does Britalman make an M6 system? I love the e39 M5 system.

it won't happen with the high revving V10.
if you want a screaming banshee at 8K RPM, go with eisenmann.

its very possible... all u need is to cut the mufflers off! u can then replace the muffler with something like a flowmaster super 44 which is what they use on mussle cars or go with a magnaflow... or go with a straight pipe welded in where the muffler was n go straight pipe which will increase high end horsepower while slightly decreasing low end torque which isnt a terrible problem... if nething it will reduce wheel spin off the line

i don't think any exhaust you put on there will make it sound like a muscle car. the 10 cyl firing sequence makes it sound very very silky smooth. you'll never get the thuggish burble of a big displacement V8.
maybe if you somehow made some custom headers that were UN-equal length...

Straight pipe it! or if you dont wanna do that then go with a flowmaster muffler. a system with that sound in mind wont be sold but if you go to a local muffler shop they can remove your stock mufflers and replace them with 2 flowmasters
