No xmas stories, but the only thing I had issues with during my rebuild were filing the rings so that I could fit the pistons in- I didn't have the dial calipers or anything else and my pistons wouldn't fit the bores..had to take the block back to the machinest and he measured and filed the ring end gap to spec for me:cool If you have done this it may be a non-issue for you as it's a part of every rebuild..Good luck on the project! It's lots o fun.

How much did Santa charge you for that?

It felt like christmas last weekend when I scored a set of brand new 92mm, 11:1 comp. JE pistons for a 2.0 crank and 1.8 head on e-bay for $272. Now I'm torn on what to do with them...I have a long time dream of building a turbo engine, but these aren't useful for that. Do I go turbo anyway, or use these instead?

got some lower control arms and vented rotors not too long ago :-)
next up on Santa's list are volvo calipers and an M42 with trans!
